andy Posted June 25, 2011 Report Posted June 25, 2011 Any ideas why the birds are not turning up, what do you think has stopped them? These doos from both nats are the best that our countrymen could send, and on a normal day the majority would be home by now? I am in no form taking any credit away from the birds that are home, these are super pigeons up there well within the expected time, but as for the remaining poor wee buggers where can they be?Well done to all who timed and you can't take anything away from these gallant pigeons. The reason the birds didn't turn up is they didn't get across the channel. Irish birds held yesterday because of FOG in the channel. Heard from a prominent fancier on the South Coast where the birds would cross from Messac into England and he said the channel was fogged out until lunch time and it's been the same all week. There birds today were not libbed until 12:45 from Fourgeres because of the same reason.

JADE Posted June 25, 2011 Report Posted June 25, 2011 So going on this a lot of the doos may not even be in the UK at the moment I would guess the majority of the doos are not in the uk and are unlikely to be in the forseeable future. if they had crossed the channel yesterday they would not have dried up after 8 pm and there would have been a lot more arrivals today. However the Reims returns dont appear to that good either and they would cross a different part of the channel
TREBLE D Posted June 25, 2011 Report Posted June 25, 2011 HAD A PICK UP IN LEEDS AT 4AM AND IT RAINED FROM THERE BACK TO NEWCASTLE WAS PATCHES OF MIST AND FOG, FINISHED WORK AT 6,15 AND IT WAS STILL RAINING IF YOUR DOOS HADNT PAST GEORDIE LAND BY LAST NIGHT THEY HAD LITTLE CHANCE 2DAY,WELL DONE TO THE WINNERS AND HOPE THE REST GET HOME.
