Getting a bit of experience in a basket Derek is what is missing nowadays with birds going National racing and never been in a basket over 15 hours due to only race marking put back to save a couple of quid.

Very true and again realistic. Remember birds held over for quite a few days ... Especially the NRCC if any threat of not being a westerly wind.

An absolute bonus Peter and to really bring a pigeon on song they used to keep in a basket back home for at least 2-3 days. Brought condition on a treat ... still does of course.

Mind the main and big gripe is of course that the Widowerhood's fear that their' birds will lose a little motivation.

the birds will work in when we get a dry spell, which could be tomorrow, but you have to ask why you sent them when the weather told you it was going to be a tough call ,but everyone has there own mind to make up. why wait all year to keep them then put the birds in a position where the weather is going to beat them in the first place .

Robbie each to their own but I certainly don't want birds in crates that only have cardboard in them for extra night not like the old ones with shavings do the national not use baskets with shavings in them JMO
