andy Burgess Posted April 14, 2017 Report Posted April 14, 2017 having read last year of member DKJ racing un- trained birds, and Peter Pandy trying it out . i thought (not dis-believing) i could only really learn from this by trying it myself . so fool hardy as it may seem i bred a few late breds . Mr Hawk took one , and the 3 remaining are away tonight . in all fairness 3 may not be a lot , and they have been in the basket once before , for just 20 minutes whilst awaiting vaccination .so it will be interesting to see the out-come . what do you guy,s think ??
peter pandy Posted April 14, 2017 Report Posted April 14, 2017 Do not be surprised if they are clocked first before the rest of your O/B team.

Plenty of doos from your area to drag them up the road Andy but they wont be your first doos imo. great to see a difference of opinion , if they home reasonably well . i will be happy Del .

Don't really give a toss what pigeon folks say now Andy . Only pigeons that are flt healthy and well trained/ schooled win races. . Or you could go the only fresh water grit and minerals program and win club fed and national averages.FPMSL.

ALF Posted April 15, 2017 Report Posted April 15, 2017 untrained birds in a north west wind be lucky if you see themWe have 31 yearlings away that have only had the 1 16mls toss this year Tyson does that mean we are in trouble with them?
Henrik Posted April 15, 2017 Report Posted April 15, 2017 We have 31 yearlings away that have only had the 1 16mls toss this year Tyson does that mean we are in trouble with them?Na, you,ll be fine
hotrod Posted April 15, 2017 Report Posted April 15, 2017 We have 31 yearlings away that have only had the 1 16mls toss this year Tyson does that mean we are in trouble with them?Aye but your yearlings were raced as youngster alan true ? I think young birds at least need trained ,I've always trained mine sometimes unraced or maybe one or two races , I used to race them right out , then I brought in the black of dromore pigeons took me nearly 5 years to work out how to race them , I found then if I raced them as youngster most went down like snow off a dyke ,but give them an easy race or two let them mature then bingo ,wow best pigeons I've ever had .so I think different birds/breeds need a different approach. So good luck today Andy .me personally I think yoo/ the birds will need it .
walterboswell59 Posted April 15, 2017 Report Posted April 15, 2017 Plenty of doos from your area to drag them up the road Andy but they wont be your first doos imo.got to agree with dell on that one andy but you can only try m8 one thing in there favour the north wind will help steady them up but for me i would not send an untrained pigeon to any race as i dont think its fair to the pigeon but just my opinion and hope you time one pal but you need the luck
andy Burgess Posted April 15, 2017 Author Report Posted April 15, 2017 thanks Stuart and Walter . training was becoming a problem , so looked at trying something new (for me) . hope to get the sheet up later , and maybe 31,34, and 35 may appear on it ?? who knows ?

philg50 Posted April 15, 2017 Report Posted April 15, 2017 I asked Peter Pandy on his natural post was it last years youngsters that were raced but he hasnt answered yet ,i might have given it a go but Latebreds and yearlings that never seen a basket ,dont think so nae in our weather conditions.
andy Burgess Posted April 15, 2017 Author Report Posted April 15, 2017 well i,ve had 1 from the 3 ??? so far
Roland Posted April 15, 2017 Report Posted April 15, 2017 Do not be surprised if they are clocked first before the rest of your O/B team. Couldn't agree more. Have over the last two seasons sent last bred and yearlings first time in basket 150 - or more miles in race .... Didn't actually win .... but were very well placed and above the vast majority.
