Guest Gareth Rankin Posted January 31, 2014 Report Posted January 31, 2014 Hope it ok to put a link up to a very good article on Davie Donaldson of Glassford, shows how simple pigeon racing can be in a small back garden loft. Well done to Tom and Daviehttp://www.elimarpigeons.com/DavieDonaldson.htm
philg50 Posted January 31, 2014 Report Posted January 31, 2014 Great article just read it cheers for that!.
frank-123 Posted January 31, 2014 Report Posted January 31, 2014 Great article by Tom. A great fancier. Everyone of those top long distance men have one thing in common. Old Scottish bloodlines.
walterboswell59 Posted January 31, 2014 Report Posted January 31, 2014 well done to tom and davie the best small team fancier in scotland at the distance imo great read with great results hope you win it one day davie
Rooster J. Cogburn Posted January 31, 2014 Report Posted January 31, 2014 Great stuff Tom I'd been looking forward to that since I found out it was on cards Tremendous achievements with so few pigeons
Guest TAMMY_1 Posted January 31, 2014 Report Posted January 31, 2014 wonder how many will remember the Gibson brs mentioned in the article? Jimmmy and Wullie were before my time in racing but I did know both of them as they had the coal round in Netherburn and knew they had fantastic birds and achievements though but the club members who flew with them when I joined the club said it was easier to strike gold then get an egg off Wullie but Jimmy was a different man altogether
Delboy Posted January 31, 2014 Report Posted January 31, 2014 Davie Donaldson is without doubt one of the best fanciers ever in the west section, top class. Well done Davie and Tom :emoticon-0167-beer:
lanarkshire lad Posted January 31, 2014 Report Posted January 31, 2014 There is no doubt that Davie Donaldson has been and still is one of the best long distance fanciers in Scotland. Once again we see a very basic humble set up with very basic methods reaching and staying at the top of long distance racing for many years i think we should all take our hats off to this guy.
andy Burgess Posted January 31, 2014 Report Posted January 31, 2014 its a good and interesting read about a great fancier shame we cant have them on site "direct" instead of via a link ?
paddymac Posted January 31, 2014 Report Posted January 31, 2014 Thanks for sharing Gareth, great write-up :emoticon-0137-clapping:

peter pandy Posted January 31, 2014 Report Posted January 31, 2014 a good read, does anybody know why they dont get maize when feeding Donkeys years ago Fanciers believed Maize gave the youngsters Canker with the sharp edge scoring the throat allowing infection.
andy Burgess Posted February 1, 2014 Report Posted February 1, 2014 Donkeys years ago Fanciers believed Maize gave the youngsters Canker with the sharp edge scoring the throat allowing infection.thanks for the reply Peter , I looked at the reply and wondered if it were a more "seasonal answer" Maize being less available during a natural rearing cycle ??
