dal2 Posted October 6, 2012 Report Posted October 6, 2012 Thats right, have them fly for 7 hours before they hit the heat lolSurely better flying in the heat than sittin in it?????LOL Oh good job we got that state of the art transporter wae air con????LOL Lets get a loft smack in the middle of Scotland where we can all travel to everyday and sort oor doos oot :emoticon-0136-giggle: :emoticon-0136-giggle:
JADE Posted October 6, 2012 Report Posted October 6, 2012 jADE i am not bothered about what fanciers want regarding racing to any race points and enjoy there racing thats what its all about ? But why do you think inland races of 3 & 400 miles is to be in par with french races ? That is like having 2 grand nationals one from 4 3/4 miles and one at 2miles and the 2milers are equal ? gold cup liberation at midday at nantes ? You obviously are bothered cos you make a big enough song and dance aboot it. I have NEVER said that 3-400 miles is on a par with channel racing but a national prize winner at 400 miles from Eastbourne is not to be scoffed at and a bird doing 37 miles per hour for 11 hours is certainly no sprinter

BLACK W F Posted October 6, 2012 Report Posted October 6, 2012 Ian do you really know what your saying what is national mean the whole country and by my calculations where ta hell da ye get a national race that take in the whole of the country from 200 miles, do you not understand the first drop in the y/b national doesent fly 200miles ? And as lewis said combine feds for inland races but dont call it a national / surly yer brain must tell you the birds winning a inland race is being compaired to french races , you should know that if you send them over the channel it is superior birds to the rolling in laughter janseens calling them a champion ? OMG ?walter your spot on the nationals means the channel but unless they lib at first light or a lunch day libb the north is shut out how can any one expect more members to join from the north when they dont get a fair crack is it the fact the true distance men are from the north and they are feared in case the north wins it shows the true colours JMO
Rooster J. Cogburn Posted October 6, 2012 Author Report Posted October 6, 2012 Buy this guy a pint best comment on this subject and i would vote for this well done. Good to hear theres a seconder in Peter and at least a couple of votes

So second best gold cup nantes with midday lib ? Lewis put ma name doon for race controller for the north roaders
peter pandy Posted October 6, 2012 Report Posted October 6, 2012 How many members from the North of Scotland are members of the SNFC ? I notice in Clermont they sent 77 birds and are we to take them into consideration when 1622 birds were sent ? . Too much emphasis is accorded to the North section when the huge bulk of fanciers are in the Central belt and they are the ones who should have priority consideration, After all they are the ones who make up the huge bulk of the SNFC.

peter pandy Posted October 7, 2012 Report Posted October 7, 2012 When inland nationals are the subject of discussion we in the central belt are flying 300-400 miles which are not distance races as far as I am concerned. I joined the SNFC 50 years ago to fly from France not England and to be perfectly honest I am fed up with the bleating from North Section members complaining that they have to fly 100-150 miles more than we do. They have a tail wind in many races up the East coast where we in the West have 50-70 mile head winds to finish a race off. As regards the split in the Nationals if you dont know the real reason then I wont be spelling it out to you but it had absolutely nothing to do with loft location. As far as I am concerned I have only posted the truth of the matter and I am sure you know the old saying,Truth sometimes hurts.

peter pandy Posted October 7, 2012 Report Posted October 7, 2012 Walter, I only restarted last year again with gift birds after a long break and as we should know it takes roughly three years to get established. If I had retired to the South East coast I would have won a National by this time.

YOU DON,T NEED TO MATE ,IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH SPLITS, BAW HAIRS YOU CAN NAME IT WHAT YOU LIKE , I DO KNOW THE REAL REASON I WAS THERE I WAS ONE OF THE ONES WHO WALKED OUT ,AND IT HURT LIKE HELL,AND ALL AT A TIME IN MY LIFE WHERE I LOST MY WIFE AND A GRANDSON WITH ILLNESS , AND YOUR WRONG LOFT LOCATION DOES HAVE A PART TO PLAY, BUT YOU CAN,T HELP WHERE YOU CHOOSE TO STAY OR WHERE YOUR LOFT HAS TO BE SITUATED NEAR YOUR HOUSE OR ALLOTMENT ,AND I,M NOT IN THE NORTH SECT , AND I BELIEVE CAMELON IS IN THE EAST SECT IS IT NOT ,I STAND CORRECTED IF I,M WRONG , ANYWAY SIR GOODLUCK IN ALL YOU AIM FOR IN 2013

Brave words. If everyone in the west moved to Ayton someone would still be last. Think about it
blucock Posted June 14, 2013 Report Posted June 14, 2013 In a months time is the time to look back at this thread and ask what measures mooted were put in place and what ones would be worth tabling next season?? It confuses me why a lot want to drop Newbury and go to Eastbourne/Maidstone/Ypres ... oh, wait they are all on the eastern tip of the country aren't they? I take that back

Guest chad3646 Posted June 14, 2013 Report Posted June 14, 2013 Well Im afraid in the modern pigeon game if you only have channel races in the programme the national will be dead and buried in ten years time....Why?? because the majority of todays fanciers are not interested in long distance racing. By the way I love long distance racing but I also see the bigger picture. If the national only had TWO race next year from Alencon and Tours how many entries do you think they would get and how many members would resign? its not that they are not interested, they just dont have the pigeons that will do it so the easy way out is the inland nationals imo
