Kyleakin Lofts Posted March 3, 2019 Report Posted March 3, 2019 SHU are thinking of the fanciers before finance.
andy Burgess Posted March 4, 2019 Report Posted March 4, 2019 https://nwhu.co.uk/TempDir/statement/ well that was a long and interesting read . clear to see who the "bully in the classroom" is
paddymac Posted March 4, 2019 Report Posted March 4, 2019 It'll be interesting to see what the response is from the RPRA to this statement, just shows its another method of the RPRA to fleece their members of more money for no reason at all.
Kyleakin Lofts Posted March 4, 2019 Report Posted March 4, 2019 (edited) :crying: SHU are thinking of the fanciers before finance. Would you rather they had decided to follow on and charge their members? Sometimes credit should be given. We know that not everything is rosy and that improvements could be made, but if you do not think that knocking off 4 years worth of rises to the Membership Fee and holding the cost of Life Rings as was done last year, Holding the Membership Fee and Life Ring cost and stopping charges for loft pinpointing and race measurements as was done this year is not a move in the correct direction, pray tell me how you would manage the situation? It is easy to sit in blissful ignorance and mock. Edited March 4, 2019 by Kyleakin Lofts
DBA421 Posted March 4, 2019 Report Posted March 4, 2019 Well said Andy.Totally agree with you. The existing SHU committee has carried out some excellent changes in the last few years. I now wonder if its worth it giving up all the time @ travelling without any payment to attend all the meetings when all you get is moans and groans from people who are never even at an SHU AGM.
Roland Posted March 4, 2019 Report Posted March 4, 2019 Well I suppose it must take the RPRA a few seconds to get the numbers up on the Computer. Then 20 seconds or so to put up a and add a few words to send to the Fancier. Now I had a little hassle a few years back transferring SHU rings. Had to go through the SHU in my name. Then then transferred it to the R.P.A. or such.
DJWa Posted March 4, 2019 Report Posted March 4, 2019 It'll be interesting to see what the response is from the RPRA to this statement, just shows its another method of the RPRA to fleece their members of more money for no reason at all. the rpra have federations in Scotland and are the governing body in northern Ireland is this not the same thing as the nwhu are doing going outside their boundaries
tommy bhoys Posted March 4, 2019 Report Posted March 4, 2019 the rpra have federations in Scotland and are the governing body in northern Ireland is this not the same thing as the nwhu are doing going outside their boundariesthe rpra are trying to get every one to be members of their union watch this space
Kyleakin Lofts Posted March 4, 2019 Report Posted March 4, 2019 The NEHU suspended some members and notified the RPRA. These suspended members applied to join the RPRA and were accepted. They now run a RPRA club within NEHU boundaries. The NEHU have had applications from RPRA areas and refused them on these grounds. There is a "turf war" going on in England, but it has also been started in Scotland.

That would sort a turf war oot!
Kyleakin Lofts Posted March 4, 2019 Report Posted March 4, 2019 Do you think the SHU should make all clubs in Scotland abide by their rules and ban any other authority? That would sort a turf war oot! That is impossible to enforce. Everyone has their individual freedom to race within any organisation. What we require is an understanding that the Unions will not poach fanciers from outwith their boundaries. I was highlighting that the RPRA are unhappy about the NWHU taking members from outwith their area and have enforced this registration fee on RPRA members, whilst at the same time they are doing the exact same as the NWHU and are accepting members from within SHU and NEHU boundaries.

How do you stop it?
Kyleakin Lofts Posted March 4, 2019 Report Posted March 4, 2019 We are currently wrestling with that one. Any fair-minded suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
paddymac Posted March 4, 2019 Report Posted March 4, 2019 the rpra have federations in Scotland and are the governing body in northern Ireland is this not the same thing as the nwhu are doing going outside their boundariesIt is a bit hypocritical of the RPRA with their attitude being do as I say not as I do
johno Posted March 5, 2019 Report Posted March 5, 2019 What month of the year does the NWHU start issuing rings?
Kyleakin Lofts Posted March 5, 2019 Report Posted March 5, 2019 I think it is November. Someone that gets them early could tell you.
jim Posted March 5, 2019 Report Posted March 5, 2019 none issued before 18th dec most after 6th january at the nwhu show or meeting
Kyleakin Lofts Posted March 5, 2019 Report Posted March 5, 2019 none issued before 18th dec most after 6th january at the nwhu show or meeting That sounds relatively normal and is contrary to the stories I've heard. Seems it is purely a cost matter when they are bought by members from different areas.
paddymac Posted March 5, 2019 Report Posted March 5, 2019 RPRA obviously punishing any of their members and anyone else for that matter that choose to purchase their life rings from a cheaper source.
STB Posted March 5, 2019 Report Posted March 5, 2019 That sounds relatively normal and is contrary to the stories I've heard. Seems it is purely a cost matter when they are bought by members from different areas. they arrive 18 december Andy . Does the RPRA not issue even earlier .
Kyleakin Lofts Posted March 5, 2019 Report Posted March 5, 2019 they arrive 18 december Andy . Does the RPRA not issue even earlier . Think so.
Delboy Posted March 5, 2019 Report Posted March 5, 2019 The RPRA should've enforced this new rule about NWHU rings from season 2020. It is absurd and probably illegal to implement a charge AFTER their members had already purchased the rings. This would definitely not stand up in court in my opinion. I can see the reasoning beind it all but the timing of this ruling is beyond belief.
Delboy Posted March 5, 2019 Report Posted March 5, 2019 they arrive 18 december Andy . Does the RPRA not issue even earlier . Aye Rab, any I've ever purchased from the NWHU were delivered in late December. Not needed here as I mate up a month later.
