peter pandy Posted January 25, 2017 Report Posted January 25, 2017 Every member in the first 50 of the result must have thought they had won the Gold Cup. What a thrill it must have been that night.

Mossgiel Posted January 26, 2017 Report Posted January 26, 2017 I think 1984 was the first season where the SNFC imposed a 12 bird limit on it's members, certainly didn't affect Mr Newcombe. A 12 bird limit ... changed days now ?? The first open winner, "Festival Delorna" was Fife rung, bred by Jock McKinnon of Ladybank direct from his 1st open Falaise SNFC winner "Lorna McKinnon". The McKinnon team contained a lot of Dennis Dall blood with a cross of R & M Venner pigeons.
bullcock Posted January 26, 2017 Report Posted January 26, 2017 Outstanding performance by van the man

He judged at the Larhall show and said he would just pool them more,He gave my cheq hen a first,Was 84 when Tam timed first up the Law.Cant find the result

W.D. Posted January 30, 2017 Report Posted January 30, 2017 Remember that night well too Rooster.Andra Lamond timed in 'Blue Power' as he later named him. Had to listen to them getting pished and him dining out on it for years! Nightmare lol.
W.D. Posted January 30, 2017 Report Posted January 30, 2017 J Miller of Edinburgh timed in a Van Hee cock that won 13th open and £1000+, He later won the Y/B Nat with a son of him that year.Met him in Belgium that year on a pigeon trip,we never saw him for the first 3 days of the holiday, was too busy celebrating! Went to Van Hee's to buy some of the same doos and they sent him away without even seeing one, saying they had none for sale as the Japs had bought them all. He got taken to Van Bruane instead, and got treated to a visit around the whole set up for the afternoon, and some y/bs to boot.
