JonesyBhoy Posted November 14, 2016 Report Posted November 14, 2016 whats does everyone use to store their feeding? and any direction on where to buy
Bryngwynt Lofts Posted November 14, 2016 Report Posted November 14, 2016 I managed to get hold of a stell bin, which is raised on the floor.Which you see in Garden Centres holding there bird food in. Also have a metal bin in the other loft as well.
showman Posted November 14, 2016 Report Posted November 14, 2016 I got mine from a club mate who worked in a creamery. Originally they contained frozen concentrated orange juice. This was about 25 years ago, and I'm still using them. Very durable, heavy plastic with lift off lid. Not sure of size, but each bin holds 2 x 25kg of mixture. Same bin still available locally (2nd hand) cost approx. £6-£8. Have one in each loft so I can feed different mixtures within each loft, and have a few more in workshop to store conditioning seed etc. Was actually thinking of getting a few more to store our wild bird seeds in.

Also knew someone in the catering industry and have several other bins that started life as gravy, mayonnaise and oil containers various sizes from 10 litres to 50 litres, that we use for grit, loft white, conditioning seed and depurative

Roland Posted November 16, 2016 Report Posted November 16, 2016 Well I buy about 6 -8 25 bags at a time. Costs about £10 in fuel to do the 90 of miles. Reason being Tic Beans £6 Wheat / Barley etc. £4 etc. So I save a few quiddies eh! The Normal Refuse Bins are handy. Hide yours and go to Council and report lost lol I think there is a wee charge now... But they hold 5 or 6 bags left in bags, I also found like Georgie says B and M bins fine. ... Need at least 3 so I can mix a few 25K bags if and when needed. Mind it also depends on room available. I, again am lucky here.

Roland Posted November 16, 2016 Report Posted November 16, 2016 The council here charge £38 to have your refuse bin replaced Blumming eckers mate. Mind we are lucky that we nigh always have a very small majority council no matter whether Labour or the conning ones. So they need to be good or lose the vote next time round eh!
