flying fifer Posted June 5, 2016 Report Posted June 5, 2016 I know we have to think about the guys in the North but as far as I can see all of the Scottish Feds are up this morning from roughly the same area ( Lanarkshire only 19 mls short of Buckingham ) , not one for criticising controllers but still a bit bemused that the birds are held over :emoticon-0138-thinking:My sentiments exactly and we fly north of Dundee. The proof of the pudding will be in the eating as they say, thankfully we only sent 6. AW THE BEST ;)
andy Posted June 5, 2016 Report Posted June 5, 2016 Watch this space, tomorrow the birds moved to Leicester and liberated. No contingency plan whatsoever poor race management team for me.ATB all, its the birds that will suffer this afternoon.
clockman Posted June 5, 2016 Report Posted June 5, 2016 TRe: Holdover at Buckingham today ???by Diamond Dave » Sun Jun 05, 2016 12:01 pm I am only about 8 miles from the lib site at Buckingham. The weather here has been completely overcast all morning with quite a heavy haze. The sun is only just trying to break through but it is still not good enough for a lib. - I would say your race controller/convoyer are on top of the game lads.Hope you get a lib and a good race D.D.

No contingency plan whatsoever poor race management team for me.ATB all, its the birds that will suffer this afternoon. We spoke about that earlier Andy the birds should have been moved early this morning Baz Nicol put a post on Pigeon chat earlier and as far as i can see nobody has liberated from Buckingham this morning and we are not alone at the race point

Henrik Posted June 5, 2016 Report Posted June 5, 2016 Here we go again, same old story, moan about decisions taken but won't stand up and take a position at the meetings
DJL Posted June 5, 2016 Report Posted June 5, 2016 Good to see the keyboard race controllers are still around. I'm as frustrated as the rest at not getting a race but I don't think they will have held without good reason. And as for moving the birds today. No way!

No contingency plan whatsoever poor race management team for me.ATB all, its the birds that will suffer this afternoon. My thoughts exactly, looking the forecast cloud there again in the morning, a lot of rain west of Scotland tmro afternoon..Tuesday is a washout,if the committee feel only a 50/50 chance again tmro, better making the desicion and moving today...Fanciers have gold cup birds etc on board, and maybe putting marking back like most federations done should have been considered

dal2 Posted June 5, 2016 Report Posted June 5, 2016 Good post Good post David. Off course these comments are all true John but remember most, if not all, will have their best at this race so the thought of them cooking in a transporter somewhere can maybe cause feelings to run a wee bit high. Hopefully they will get off tomorrow and we shall not return to Buckingham if it hasweather issues
dkj Posted June 5, 2016 Report Posted June 5, 2016 Saying what am not happy that another fed could lib at 12.05 but one thing for sure Davy if av anything to say a will thats good, mind have your say at the agm
flying fifer Posted June 5, 2016 Report Posted June 5, 2016 Here we go again, same old story, moan about decisions taken but won't stand up and take a position at the meetingsI can assure you that I was not criticising the controllers, as my post said. As for standing up and taking on a position, having heard some of the shambolic AGM's that have taken place, do I really want to be part of it .............think not.

Hopefully they will get off tomorrow and we shall not return to Buckingham if it hasweather issues We are all frustrated and disappointed that we have no race as we are all basking in glorious weather in Scotland but these guys controlling the race will have their best birds in the convoy and have been up since 4.30 am trying their best to get us a good race, myself personally I hate any criticism of the SNFC but yes as all things in life sometimes things go wrong and let's hope not for this race. :partick-thistle-Crest:

bullcock Posted June 5, 2016 Report Posted June 5, 2016 I personally think today was too early to be looking at bringing birds back to Leicester, now when the controllers are looking at the weather for tomorrow there would be a case for doing so, but it's their call, and we have to get on with it,we have Gold Cup candidates out there also and time is running out for them.I'm working tomorrow, if they go up early I will need to ask for a half day or miss the race, hay-ho, then their is the clocks the following day!Doo racing it's a wonderful sport
