Delboy Posted August 16, 2015 Report Posted August 16, 2015 Just met pb member Eby this morning, this gentleman travelled from Mauchline in Ayrshire to Kirkintilloch to drop off a stray yb to myself. He refused any expenses and was only too pleased to help any fancier out. This man travels to the Solway every week and brings ybs up the road and distributes them all over Scotland ( free of charge ) just to help the fancy. Thanks again Eby, your doing great work m8 for your fellow fancier and I for one, really appreciate it. :emoticon-0137-clapping:

Kyleakin Lofts Posted August 16, 2015 Report Posted August 16, 2015 Just as you say Derek, these guys carry out sterling work on behalf of the fancy. They save fanciers a fortune in regards to the cost it would be if they had to have the pigeons returned by courier. They all do it because of their love of the pigeons. Congratulations lads on your efforts. Well done.
stiggy Posted August 16, 2015 Report Posted August 16, 2015 well said stevie think all feds should be working together to get birds home
bibendium Posted August 16, 2015 Report Posted August 16, 2015 by far the biggest majority of fanciers in Ayrshire appreciate the effort shown in getting these birds home, so thanks to the guys involved.
Novice Posted August 16, 2015 Report Posted August 16, 2015 Can you expand please? We ship a lot about but if somebody dusnae want it done and has a good reason I will stop it!I'll expand if no one else will. You need to be aware that this is based on second hand information.I believe Eben brought 70 strays into Ayrshire last week. I believe these were liberated and at least one never made it home.I assume the fanciers concerned had been told in advance that their pigeons were being returned and the owner of the absentee bird complained to a federation official that his bird had gone AWOL.I believe that a federation official then had the audacity to suggest that Eben drop the pigeons off at everyone's door. To put this into perspective 70 pigeons is almost 10% of the convoy. As I stated this post is based on second hand information and also on the reaction of one individual it should not be considered as being typical of Ayrshire fanciers. I would welcome a post from anyone who feels that my understanding is incorrect.

Imagine the cost to the fancier to bring these birds to the door? When I asked for an expansion I was convinced that a courier had complained about loss of earnings! Crazy
Novice Posted August 16, 2015 Report Posted August 16, 2015 Jeez. If Eban libbed the birds safely, I am sure he would, then it seems a pretty petty complaint. Imagine the cost to the fancier to bring these birds to the door? When I asked for an expansion I was convinced that a courier had complained about loss of earnings! CrazyAs I said that is my understanding I could be mistaken but I doubt it.
dal2 Posted August 16, 2015 Report Posted August 16, 2015 As I said that is my understanding I could be mistaken but I doubt it.I doubt it also. Some silly folk about. If it canny get hame from ayrshire then Wot fookin chance did it have frae the solway.
Eby Posted August 16, 2015 Report Posted August 16, 2015 Most birds are picked up by the owner's in ayrshire, one club asked for two birds to liberated I one of my club members volunteered. To liberate them from his work which is about 4 to 6 mile from there area these two birds did not make it home,a Fed official then phoned this guy up basically complaining about the birds not making it home saying that all birds should go through the stray centre ,all birds that I pick up now must be collected or arrangements made for them to be picked up,no birds get liberated from now on.

Ungrateful bassas
johnwatters Posted August 16, 2015 Report Posted August 16, 2015 Your totally correct Robert to many trying to make money in this game now and they try to hide behind a rule book to justify their comments I for one don't give a monkey's what think if I help get a bird home I will continue to do so
stiggy Posted August 16, 2015 Report Posted August 16, 2015 to be fair eban does a great turn for they ayrshire fed but once birds in they air no one knowse were they go hawk or peregine
Valiant Fifer Posted August 16, 2015 Report Posted August 16, 2015 I dont know how some can be so ungratefull especially when someone goes out their way using up their time and money and virtually getting their doos let up on their door step by the fancier who has looked after them. Some pigeon men have deffo got a screw loose. I have a stray yb in at the moment and i will let it go on my travels in next few days near where it belongs. No way will it be going through the stray centre as i dont believe in it. Iv'e never put them through it, always tried to help them on their way obs and ybs alike. If people helped each other out a bit more the sport would be better off and there would be no need for stray centres!
