Kyleakin Lofts Posted October 21, 2014 Report Posted October 21, 2014 I believe more than one truck goes with the National pigeons. What about area liberations for inland Nationals as a middle ground. This would cut the expense for the Federations whilst giving them Combine type racing as an education for pigeons flying into the same general area and at the same time give the National much needed revenue to subsidise their longer races.

Guest TAMMY_1 Posted October 21, 2014 Report Posted October 21, 2014 what exactly has the SNFC got anything to do with this thread,I thought it was about Lanarkshire Fed
geordie1234 Posted October 21, 2014 Report Posted October 21, 2014 Tammy nearly every fed in the land works with the snfc
Kyleakin Lofts Posted October 21, 2014 Report Posted October 21, 2014 what exactly has the SNFC got anything to do with this thread,I thought it was about Lanarkshire Fed The programme posted on the thread included Peterborough. It was stated that this race would be substituted with the SNFC Inland national once it was known where this would be raced from. Thus the introduction of the SNFC into the Lanarkshire Fed programme.Did you not read that Tammy?

The SNFC has around 100 grand in the bank Andy don't think they need subsidy, time the club concentrated on channel races and leave the inland races to the federations IMO

My take on the SNFC was that its founders promoted distance races and pioneered them. Yes, nowadays there is a trend towards middle and sprint, but the SNFC aim should still be to promote the greatest distance achieveable.

The trend is still distance racing Andy, its just that its a lot harder now so folk make excuses and go for the easier route to success ( sprint/middle )

geordie1234 Posted October 21, 2014 Report Posted October 21, 2014 Getting rid of the first inland nat would be a start
clockman Posted October 21, 2014 Report Posted October 21, 2014 Remember proposals have to be in by the 1st November,
daviddooman Posted October 21, 2014 Report Posted October 21, 2014 What about young bird national you want them to stop that then ....that s no a channel race. Half the people on here who moan about inland national s were to get a first section in the first national or Maidstone would nt be long and sticking there chest out because I know I would and be very proud
geordie1234 Posted October 21, 2014 Report Posted October 21, 2014 Clock man I have lost my handbook can i still go?

Half the people on here who moan about inland national s were to get a first section in the first national or Maidstone would nt be long and sticking there chest out because I know I would and be very proud correct and remember the inland races are 450 and 500 miles to some north section fanciersthey fly further inland than some southern fanciers fly from some French racepoints
ALF Posted October 21, 2014 Report Posted October 21, 2014 I missed the race meeting due to being on holiday but we have a loft full of yearlings so it looks like we will be finished by 170 mls with maybe 3 or 4 going on a bit...
Paul Mac 31 Posted October 21, 2014 Report Posted October 21, 2014 The trend is still distance racing Andy, its just that its a lot harder now so folk make excuses and go for the easier route to success ( sprint/middle ) Thats very debatable del..
peter pandy Posted October 21, 2014 Report Posted October 21, 2014 The trend is still distance racing Andy, its just that its a lot harder now so folk make excuses and go for the easier route to success ( sprint/middle ) Totally agree Derek and its our fault "DISTANCE FANCIERS" let the SNFC be highjacked by those fanciers who have no interest in what the club stood for in the past and whose only interest is sprint to middle racing. When I joined the club the Constitution stated "For the improvement of long distance racing into Scotland". The magic word for the National was Rennes and when we stopped the following year the Gold Cup lost almost 1,000 birds and £10,000 with an ever increasing spiral downwards thanks to Inland fanciers who have in all probability never experienced clocking in from 500-700 miles but whose only interest is to the detriment of us who have a different perspective on racing pigeons. The largest and most prestigeous race in the world is Barcelona 700+ miles and you have your name made for a lifetime. Me !! I could not tell you who won any 300-400 mile so called National race.
Delboy Posted October 21, 2014 Author Report Posted October 21, 2014 Thats very debatable del.. Aye yer right, everything is debatable Paul but I still believe nothing can touch winning from the channel and most still believe that. I appreciate winners at all distances but the ultimate is at the distance omho.

bullcock Posted October 21, 2014 Report Posted October 21, 2014 Timing a good one from the inlands is Silver great feeling, but from across the channel it's Gold, Hair standing on the back of your neck stuff, IMO.

Im the same del.... i can respect peoples intrests or goals...I want to win wether it be from the chippy down the road to across the channel...lolFor me its about one day racing.. and actually clockin the first bird home from a convoy...Guys that top a race early on...will say they ment it..Same guys will be nowhere and say oh im distance minded...As the old boy would say" why did they get a clock set then"

alec guinness Posted October 21, 2014 Report Posted October 21, 2014 Canny still see any problem with the SNFC programme! 300 400 500 and 600 mile racing in a programme that has some thing for everyone!!! Same stuff every year on here and the best supported races will be the inlands. Wee footnote there were only 18 birds flying over 600 miles clocked from SNFC channel races this year.!!
Kennybhoy Posted October 21, 2014 Report Posted October 21, 2014 This will be ma second ob season so don't think I'll be racing the distance 500 ml plus, hence th reason I bought birds from big Derek hay-to build for the future..ps del the birds are looking top notch they're looking like yearlings already and I'm very excited to have them in my loft,I got5cocks and 3 hens, one of the birds you gifted me the unrung one has turned out a belter of a cheq cock so apart from breeding yours to yours I bought a hen bird from Mark Gilbert last week to pair to him, after seeing the way these birds have turned out I'd have no reservations about coming back to buy some more from you and would strongly recommend anyone just starting up or trying to improve their loft to contact yergoodself del..thank you once again.
