I paired all stock and racers end of october, to get them back in to the breeding cycle before it gets too cold they will then be split and re paired when the last flight is up.

Usually try and leave it to early Feb,but the hens get very frisky so have had to pair around Jan 21st the last couple of seasons. We start racing 14th April which still gives me plenty of time.

any time after after mid jan when i get a week of good weather then they will be paired up i find they pair up better and that usually means you gets all your eggs roughly together and then your young ones wont pair though till i get that break in the weather

My plans are to pair my stock birds up on Boxing day, my widowers on my return from Blackpool, and my natural team sometime Feb/March.

But will wait and seehttp://forum.pigeonbasics.org/public/style_emoticons/default/emoticon-0126-nerd.gif

Pairing stock end of December beginning of January . Then race birds 14th February , well that's the plan but weather will also decide :)

Late January is the norm for me. I believe the would be yearlings that were raced on darkness as youngsters benefit from that extra bit of rest.

Mid March will do me. No interest in sprints. Later bred young uns grow like mushrooms. When I breed early, I just lose my young uns anyway. Works for me, so I'll go back to what works best. (For me)
