I will put £100 for 1st into REGION D

Well done Rangers.

Another, very simple fact to appreciate VIA all fanciers whatever their choice of distance they wish, prefer to fly, and that it, these very races, test the metal, the abilities from which ALL good pigeons derive from, whether a 2-3 00 miler or more.

So, in reality ALL should support this, and other such races etc. regardless when and how!

Will always get the 'Knockers' Time idling on hand in jealousy we all know. Afraid to send.... rather lose their culls weekly whilst in the loft their lofts a fortune - oft - is paid keeping the very foundation going breeding more culls. Annoying 'Joe Public' down town trying to eat their fish and chips in peace lol.

Livingston was wrong saying it, but is it any wonder that his saying 'Flying Rats' still get mentioned?

Would be nice if another could donate a hen for the cock bird(s).

Stress free youngster then with no incest, breeding good constitutions and immunity with no Young bird sickness eh!

Well big Dan, back with a bang lol :animatedpigeons:

How some don't know facts there, that's for sure. But then why does one have to go South etc.?

East would certainly be a lot better option I feel if France or co spout 'With Holding'!

To have a race from 600 mile you would need a 4.30am lib again national racing is not drawn on fairness, on olden times most birds were all equal, now days the border birds need only fly about 460 mile were as a northern entry can have another 200 mile to go if you go by velocity even a shotgun has its limits before it is pissing in the wind great at short distance but crap at getting a goose at height

Yes, I agree with a lot there Bigda. Not the 4:30 lib though. But the distance some fly to gain unjust merit. very true.

the devious late libs so the birds get held up at the coast for instance is scandalous. Birds in early morning nip over 20 miles of water and are timed in. Whilst others fly on - after the cold channel 200 o300 miles more! Yet the powers to be, and the sh** that brought that allowance in have middle distance birds flying say 3000 miles and claiming prestige as 'Distance' proven birds. Enabling so poor idiots to be conned buying youngsters from them

First thing Bigda needed doing, as far as I'm concerned, and so very often spouted These races should be organised on section merits. indeed letting the real distance birds get the merit that they deserve and the cheat fanciers being known that THEY only flew 300 miles in a 600 mile race. Yes in all advertising must be known the only flew 300 miles and hopped over the channel!

Yes, especially for the money in helping costs, let all and sundry fly and contest their section merits.

The national should pick the first 8 race program that give each section at least 3 races at distance from north to south first. Race would be to Hastings, if your flying over 400 mile you are allowed to go your flying the next race2 would be France at 425 mile from loft, the next race 3 would be 475 mile from loft the next would be race 4 500 mile from your loft the next race 5 would be the gold ring, race 550 mile from your loft within 5 mile zone race 6 would be 575 mile from loft race 7 would be 600 mile the final race measurement would come from the shortest flyers loft that would give most lofts 3 national race and a chance to win a national you will find race distance to suit your self

Well we have in our Feds always had combination merit awards / cups etc. Plus each race, as most clubs and feds do, have done so.

Three longest races including Lerwick. All have individual cups. Lerwick, only about 540 miles or so though also has a special 'Gold Cup'! Given by Frankie George who owned Weetabix/ Whitworth hotels and bread out lets flours etc. Was a fair man who picked up nigh all tabs, but only after club or Fed had paid it1 Bought Morning cloud for a world record £700 pounds.

You know all, yes nigh every fancier back in time sent to the longest races ... still had the problem of what had to go seasons' end to make room for the yearling / old birds nest boxes.

Think another such 3 longest race combination - with the 600 miler would be swell.

Well red rocket, what has happened. Fanciers have had thoughts. Different stances and ideas. All good and refreshing. Also I feel, many may just want to have the merit of having a good distance bird.

One thing for sure, always and every season, hardly anyone remembers who won the shorter to middle distance races...( Just a certain fancier did well etc.) But ALL remember who won the longest and hard races.

BIGDAS Back the freed is wasted noo yi canny hay a national race from euro central to suite BIGDA ^_^ ^_^ ^_^

My opinion on the national is why throw a 100 quid at a 550 mile race when you haven't a hope in hell getting in the first 100

As there are fanciers that train further than the race its self with sprit middle distance birds, billy bilsland trains further on his bike

Well what a defeatist attitude Bigda. Agree somewhat with that sentiment. That's why I so often spout 'Merit for the sections.

Mind most good fanciers when looking at importing new blood, watch, take note of the results and the location to the liberation points.

Not many in Liverpool will beat a birds from Louth in a westerly wind from Thurso/Lerwick.

However if one looks for the merit of such birds they will soon know, and tell you the best bird in the race. I wager in a Federation, or national it is very, very seldom the best bird on the day wins. We all know that.

I will also state that if every bird in a loft can't do 500 mile races, then it is the Fanciers fault! Never mind the crap that they are sprint birds etc. Who really wants birds only capable of doing well on 'Paper Bag' races!
