  1. It pains me to say that I agree with everything John has posted above as this has been my programme with Colombovac. Apart from this year when I took another's advice and the youngsters ended up with a mild form of PMV.
  2. Hex or nae hex Mr Lanarkshire, the fact remains "IT GOT BATE" and I could have lost the price of one of my nancy shirts you keep going on about.
  3. Was the dog not called something lemon ?, But if you were watching it run it would be a sour ploom !!. And I probably was wearing one of my fancy shirts. LOL,LOL.

    Hot Tips

John Quinn aka Mr Lanarkshire pronounced on Basics a couple of months past, a dog that was a racing certainty ? and for all to have a flutter. Personally I decided to dismiss the opportunity of uncountable riches and wondered if I had chosen the right path being a precarious person. Personally I don't believe John could pick his nose OR tip a baby out of its pram.
  5. The birds I have are basically Muller Aardens which are slow developers and if we look at the SNFC distance results their are more 3 year old and above than 2 year olds which will probably make up 80% of the convoy. Inland racing no longer interests me as its a bit of a lottery regarding loft location, Young bird racing even less. Patience is the name of the game to me.
  6. I made the stupid mistake this year as I had last year which was attempting to race O/B from the first to last races losing the bulk of the yearlings at Newbury 330 miles where I sent 15 and to date 8 have returned. It crawled around in my mind that I would not have enough mortal years left when I should have been taking what I really wanted to do and know what I should have done and carried out a sensible programme instead of pushing them to a distance they were not mature enough for. I only competed in 4 club O/B races winning 2 first's and 3 seconds and 2 Y/B races before they fell to bits in the moult. Next year I will not be sending yearlings further than 150 miles, 2 year olds 300 miles and 3 year olds 500 + due to them being slow maturers.
  7. The brass neck you have would complement any shirt you wore.
  8. I told you previously John my shirts are not from Hawaii, They are from all the Caribbean islands I have visited and you can mock me all you like but I know you are only jealous of my attire. LOL
  9. EM !!! Whit aboot the Midland Fed ? or are we tae be left oot an aw.

Absolutely nothing regarding wing stamped phone numbers only name & address.
  11. Perhaps the Scottish Central Combine requires modifying. To my limited intelligence the following should take place as soon as possible. Representatives from Almond Valley, Central, North West, Midland and Forth & Clyde should have a get together and regroup with a separate programme not incorporating any interference from any other organisation and design a race schedule for racing mid-week on their own.
  12. I do have a firearms certificate and live in a built up area so shooting is a definite no-go idea. When I erected my loft it was snowing and prints were left in the snow which I identified as rats, cats and foxes. Being a kindly person and aware of other animal lovers right's to have pets I erected an electric fence designed for chickens and can assure all that this is the humane way to rid your garden of unwanted pests without alarming your neighbours. A one second burst of 15,000 volts deters any living thing from disturbing your property and they are legal causing no harm to pets or children. Some of the suggestions put forward by caring loving fanciers are nothing more than disgustingly disgraceful.
  13. More than welcome John.
  14. Many thanks for the kind wishes, I could be doing with a birthday more often. The family seem to think I am a bit of an alky as I have been gifted with 6 bottles of wine 2 bottles of Macallan and a crate of cider. Specsavers for you John and I am off to sample the goods.
  15. Midland use Appleby code 102 and I fly 112 mls 1726 yds into Camelon, I believe Eastcoaster posted his distance as 111 mls and I would have thought I had at least 4 mls from him. !!.
  16. Don't know about being lucky but have watched them swerve away at the last moment and I include Goshawk's as well.
  17. TERROR EYES from Dazer have worked for me around the loft.
  18. Just read your post and to be perfectly frank I cannot for the love of me understand why anyone would wish to give their pigeons Tylan which was designed for pigs 50 years ago. As regards purple breast flesh ? a couple of days on barley clears it up.
  19. The Weather Channel for Appleby states it is Cloudy, Rain, Sat, Sun, Mon. So I wont be sending.
  20. Dougie, What a cracker and what a dilemma !!. If the covers on the wing have gone completely then I would put her past, if not the decision is yours whether to send her this week. With the possibility of a hold over this week-end it would speed the moult but you don't need me to tell you that.
  21. Did you not vote for them to liberate at 10.00 ??.
  22. Noticed my birds were leaving all the Maize although still hungry. V/L/G/Plus.
  23. KEH as Manwell would say.
  24. Thank goodness its not just me as I was having an expert in to look at it. So what is wrong with the Basics Site ??.
