  13. The Up North Combine have their last old bird race this weekend - from Lillers, 317 miles to me Sending about 15 - they will mainly be hens
  14. If they perform TOO well - they won't get any recognition cos they aren't transferred - the Up North Combine checks with the various racing organisations to make sure bird belongs to flier - if it doesn't - thrown off result sheet - and this should happen with clubs as well, fanciers flying birds that don't officially belong to them Personally - if I was the breeder - I send the transfer forms in myself - it might cost a few pounds in the short term - but could save a fortune in the long term........
  15. Youngsters are split about 10 days before the last old bird race Because the old birds are also split for racing - they are paired back together just before the last old bird race - and left together, so I have room to race the youngsters 'on roundabout'
  16. 'Funnily' enough I have had an e-coli AND streptococcus infection My treatment was - METRONIDAZOLE
  17. If you have given your birds a full 400mg tablet of flagyl - I am surprised they are still alive They are not designed for pigeons (whoever told you that?) I personally would never give young birds a dose bigger than 50mg or old birds 100mg (but would give more than one dose)
  18. I was talking to someone at Blackpool last year who remarked 'anyone can win a young bird race' Well it took me 6 years.........................so no meed to second guess my answer to the question
