  1. I knew the yearlings would end up in Scotland
  2. Redcar - a bit windy - but nice and sunny
  3. UNC BUBWITH. Birds Liberated as follows. Group 1 @ 10-10am. Group 2 @ 10-30am. Group 3 @ 10-50am. Group 4 @ 11-10am. Group 5 @ 11-30am. Group 6 @ 11-50am. The wind is South East. Good Luck to all who have sent - it's likely to be a fast race, so don't get caught out!!
  4. same in Redcar Its just a pity it's foggy at the race point....
  5. Up North Combine Bubwith 55 miles to me
  6. I cannot offer any advice, but if young birds are dying in the nest at between 5 and 15 days old - then there is something seriously wrong there, be it streptococcus, salmonella - or something else -(YBS seems doubtful to be honest, as they usually need to mix with other birds) I would say that the advice you have been given is reasonable - but would go for amoxicillin (not baytril) as a treatment, as baytril will not treat strep.
  7. 01698 is Motherwell though You could always report dead to NEHU Who will inform the registered keeper e-mail: nehu@nehu.co.uk
  8. Up North Combine - first race this weekend coming (was put back a week) Birds have had 6 training tosses - last 2 from 25 miles - not trained today tho'
  9. Sunday is going to be a SOUTH WEST WIND
  10. I have been with plusnet for about 3 years I have the low user broadband (10GB per month) as I don't download a great deal (unlimited after midnight anyway, which doesn't count) Pay the extra so that I get free any time calls to landlines and I pay land line 12 months in advance to get a good discount. It works out at around £28 - £30 a month for broadband and phone - they do not do TV, and they are actually part of BT
  11. Nice to see you had a good day Andy - hope your heads OK this morning
  12. If you e-mail the nehu: nehu@nehu.co.uk you are likely to get a quicker response.
  13. Possibly belonged to Samuels and Lovel (they owned 612 which appeared on the FUT race for 2012) they are in Spennymoor I think The NEHU FUTURITY race is Dr Lovel's baby.
  14. Yes - you'd better be on your best behaviour
  15. Happy Birthday 'son' (I think I'll have to knock that reference on the head, cos I'm too young !!! )
  16. The Up North Combine has cancelled the Open race for this weekend and put back the start of the racing season, which should have been the 6th April, but is now standing at the 13th April (combine race dates are not changing)
  17. Read my post again - as vaccination certificates have to be in to combine secretary before the 1st June (original to club secretary, copies to fed secretary and combine secretary) they then have to be vaccinated by mid May for that to happen Your old bird season sounds very short, I've never known ANY old bird season finish in June,
  18. You need rules like the Up North Combine Old Birds Must be vaccinated and copies of vaccination certificates to be in the hands of the combine secretary by 1st March Young birds As above - copies of vaccination certificates to be in the hands of the combine secretary by 1st June Failure to do so means birds cannot be raced for 4 weeks after the date of vaccination It would be impossible to cover the yearlings for the full old bird season unless they were vaccinated again
  19. Hi Denny As above: Indigestion tablets work well and easily break - own brands are the cheapest (Tesco etc - about 99p)
  20. I wonder if mine is still over there that I had reported
  21. PM Sent
  22. Vaccinator goes to each loft (just basket them ready for their vaccination to save his time) but he would also vaccinate at the allotment 'head quarters' if that's the way you want to do it, Most people also have their stock vaccinated (we certainly do)
  23. My club buys the vaccine in bulk - and we have one 'vaccinator', members are charged per bird as there is no (or very little)waste We usually get a price at one of the shows, and order about 1500 doses, usually Colombovac as it tends to have the longest use by date
  24. Unfortunately I didn't get home until yesterday !! But am hopefully on the mend now
  25. I have a young bird reported by a non-fancier in Mablethorpe - it sounds as if the youngster is not too grand possibly hawked If there is anyone around that area I would be grateful for any help
