I think Bubwith replaced the Selby liberation site It's an airfield anyway Shame about the clashing Lets hope you can get plenty together in the same place to save on pick ups - one thing I will advise - to help yourselves and help the couriers - to make things as economical as possible all round - consider: We had a bird reported - arranged a courier, told the finder (a fancier also) who we had arranged the bird to be picked up with - now this fancier had 2 other strays in (and I think they were all from the same race...!!) They were picked up by 3 different couriers - now we know there is no - or very little profit for the couriers - but I think details could have been passed on to the other two with strays (don't you?)
  6. They've culled Canadian geese because of over population in the UK Used to be hundreds of them nesting at British steel by the entrance - and on the roundabout every year (and there is a nature reserve half a mile further down the road!!) So the only thing that would be done is more culling of the geese to make sure they don't harm the birds of prey - or is that what you were suggesting bigda?
  7. Ray's at Bolden Colliery (Sunderland/Newcastle way)
  8. Sometimes the easiest/cheapest way to get birds closer to home We've done it at the request of the owners - before the stricter DEFRA regulations came into force - but we've got the bu**ers back as well
  9. Come on Mark - one is bacteria - the other one is a virus They don't compare....!
  10. We have a Belgian young bird stray in - it looked OK - but had oil on it -thought it would have been 'local', but it wasn't - and was missing from a race from Limoges - about 150 miles SOUTH of Bourges (700 miles to me!!!!!)
  11. Do people use terry nappies these days - thought it was all disposable ones now Couldn't afford 'em in my day Even the terry nappies were 2nd hand and practically threadbare - using 2 or 3 at a time :cry-blow: (can you not hear the violins playing in the background.....)
  12. Thank you everybody I did
  13. Redcar: 16 members sent 563 birds (200 more than last week) Bubwith - 56 miles
  14. I've sorted it atlast - I fiddled about with it a bit more, buster151 gave me a few more ideas with his suggestion, and it could possibly have been the seal as it was kinked a bit, but I got those flashing lights to stop and the washer to work again
  15. And all the lights are flashing....! It's a Candy GOF 462 Have looked on line - and it means everything from 'door' problem to 'possibly' blocked filter well I've done everything and still not working Lights flash 'once' - SAYS 'problem with door' - well lights flash 'once' every few seconds is that the same? I've checked the filter - no blockage - the filter is clean I've had the washer out - there's no kinks in the outlet hose and none in the inlet hose HOLD DOWN START/PAUSE BUTTON FOR 4 SECONDS to reset - But it won't reset - just keeps flashing - HELP!! (Any constructive help or suggestions gratefully received Sorry it's not about pigeons - but I've had wet washing in the washer for 2 days! (I can get the door open when set to the off position) but I'm not getting any further forward

I thought the opening ceremony was brilliant and (just about)watched the lot Some of it might have made you cringe - so what, the ideas were brilliant, it was defo different and it had just about everything you could imagine in it, music, heritage, history. The happy faces of the Athletes, women competing from certain countries for the first time I loved Seb Coe's speech It made you proud to be British I'll be glued to the TV watching the games
