Think you got them the wrong way round
  5. Clermont with the Up North Combine - it is 'The Queen's cup' NEHU race 391 miles to me - we were the biggest senders in our club Fed Birdage is only half of what it was last year for this race
  6. Got 2 yesterday morning and got one this morning from Saturday's race - a 2 year old, absolutely flown out still 3 adrift including a late bred, I never expected the combine to put all birds up together in a non combine race, forecast was North East winds - yet birds were doing 1700 ypm. (something wrong there then) West Durham let their birds up 30 minutes after ours from 40 miles further down the road and their amal winner was doing 1518ypm - but most clubs were in the 1300's - and with the wind in their favour
  7. They might get reported to the individual unions - but there is no way the UNC will phone individual clubs - with all those strays it would be a full time job (and Peter Howe is part time - but currently ill following an operation) Can you imagine IF you went to all that trouble - and all you got met with is - can you get it closer to home/I'm out of work/do you want to keep it/I'm a pensioner/I can't afford to send for it/and other unmentionable things.........
  8. Birds flying much faster than expected - :cry-blow:
  9. Club: Redcar 15 members sent 220 birds Federation: North Yorkshire sent 935 birds Thursday basket - for Lillers - 318 miles for Saturday Liberation
  10. Couldn't you just put the lyrics on paper and frame them - hang 'em on your wall - you can always change the frame if you get sick of it .....................
  11. Forecast is rain and mist and North East winds along the East coast for Saturday and Sunday (just for a change  ) All the hens and just a few cocks went last week - so the hens were being left at home this week - to prepare for the first channel race on May 26th So if we send at all, it will be a couple of 2 year old cocks, but can't see them basketing for a race for the weekend
  12. 1 lost in training 3 missing from yesterdays race 1 missing from the week before I have had 5 races altogether - so I suppose my losses are minimal (started off with 42)
  13. Such a shame that you missed them T_T It was a much harder race than expected - most people expected the birds to be doing around 1400ypm today - but the combine winner is doing just under 1290 - the NEHU Open winner (Stobbs & Mosey) doing 1294ypm
  14. And there was 45,989 birds in 2008 (the largest UK Liberation ever) Just found that on the internet !!
  15. He predicts you are going to have an addition to the family
  16. NEHU Folkestone Open Race Birds were liberated at 7.00 in a North Wind (Up North Combine approx 25,000 birds - NEHU altogether approx 36,000) Good Luck to all who sent I hope someone went to see it!
  17. Redcar 17 members sent 370 birds North Yorkshire Federation sent 1578 birds - to Folkestone 260 miles Our first combine race of the year - and the NEHU Open race

  19. About 25 - mainly hens - Folkestone 260 miles
  20. 33,777 birds in 2011 28,134 in 2010 36,810 in 2009 The 'normal' liberation time is 8.00am - but there has not been any 'normal' racing so far this season They shouldn't be up before 7.00am though
  21. And you have posted some stunning photographs of the liberation in the past as well

  23. Weather looks OK for Saturday according to the weather reports (and aren't they always right LOL !! )Sunny and North West Winds All the NEHU Organisations liberated at the same time - the first combine race of the year, could be anywhere between 30,000 and 40,000 birds Anybody going to watch???
