kingbilly 1 Posted December 13, 2016 Author Report Posted December 13, 2016 Do you lads have an entry sheet at the club level when yer on ets?wot's your point having to wright the rubbers on the entry sheet that doesn't account for the time
dal2 Posted December 13, 2016 Report Posted December 13, 2016 wot's your point having to wright the rubbers on the entry sheet that doesn't account for the timeIt's still slower Tam than beeping it and walking to the basket. Also the mistakes made on them sheets are unbelievable not to mention the pools sheet. Any mistake means all stop until the member is called forward......a discussion of the problems. ....Further discussion about how it's to be sorted. ....it all takes time
peter pandy Posted December 13, 2016 Report Posted December 13, 2016 In my opinion their should only be one marking station in the center of the Country and all clocks set and checked there. The only handlers should be Committee Members likewise Clock Setters. Security should be paramount and beyond approach with the birds from all sections thoroughly mixed up then perhaps the result would not be dominated by any one Section. Clock checking the same with one station and same clock committee.

tommy bhoys Posted December 13, 2016 Report Posted December 13, 2016 only real diffrence is double rung, unreleased ets clocks takes seconds but if you put a charge on it they wouldnt be long in getting them cleared beforehand, half the problem is inadquatly trained helpers on ets, which only the snfc can sort by trainning them on all systemsthink another ban is pending dafty This venue is ideal for the snfc marking station

HOMER49 Posted December 14, 2016 Report Posted December 14, 2016 (edited) What they need is decent premises that suit.1. Dry for members2. Adequate parking.3. Marking stations that cater for all timing systems so you don't have to wait in separate queue for each particular system.4. Security area that members not marking can't go behind. Hi FrankAll very true and add a place for tea or coffee IMO LAM is ideal for marking If the SNFC expect members to mark our pigeons like the garden centreat Newhouse then no wonder there are losing members I personally helped an elderly fancier who tripped over piping at Newhousean absolute disgrace We have by law a duty of careLanark Auction Market by a mileCheersHomer 49 Edited December 14, 2016 by HOMER49

We need security, birds getting mixed properly, and professional handlers and administrators.Birds should be marked Wed for Fri race or flexibility if the forecast is really bad..Outlying areas can have their birds brought in by someone with a large van and the SNFC would subsidise their expenses.Or , share a car with someone and it covers travelling costs. This has all been done before WITH GREAT SUCCESS but everybody wants spoon fed nowadays.Lets bring the SNFC back to its once envied status, the most prestigious club in the British Isles.

The marking station at Bathgate was a great success. I remember when there was only the one at Gorgie Market and that's when not everybody had a car. Everybody pooled together to get there.
Guest IB Posted December 15, 2016 Report Posted December 15, 2016 I don't think reducing the number of marking stations will be of any benefit to the club or its members. I do agree that those that we do have or get should be fit for purpose. There is one area of Scotland that we don't serve and that is the North of Scotland (Inverness to Caithness). I see around 500 birds being sent to their coast race, Battle or Hastings, on the same weekend that we go to Ypres. It would be good to have a marking station for these members, I'm sure they'd send with us if they could.
geordie1234 Posted December 15, 2016 Report Posted December 15, 2016 Guy's we live in a different world from the hey day of the SNFC.... We live in a world where Amazon just done it's first drone delivery and it only took 13 minutes from point of sale. I don't think members would come out in their numbers for a single marking station tbh. John Hood spoke about spending a few hours listening to top national men etc... It disny cut it now unfortunately. I'm lucky I get time to take a sh.ite some days with work and weans. People want easy and accessable and simple! not travelling 3 hours to a marking station....

It could take a day off the basketting for the Gold cup doos, then that in itself makes it worthwhile Jim. Security and getting the doos spread about the baskets are two key factors as well. Nobody would pull out from going to the main event of the year because it was central marking imo. If they did, they arent committed to the Gold cup race, omho!!

geordie1234 Posted December 15, 2016 Report Posted December 15, 2016 The gold cup is already fkd without asking guys to travel light years to a station

Its about benefitting yer doos, nothing else. The gold cup is already fkd without asking guys to travel light years to a station This way, ye wont be travelling at all.Yer doos will be taken for ye.
