its grew right over the top of my aviary making it very dark and was trying to figure out how to kill it till i watching a program about alaskan bush people they need wood close to hand to burn for heating and cooking all winter so instead of traveling for miles to get dead wood they kill a trees near to there cabin by what they call ringing the tree they cut a ring round the bark of the tree and it dies off in a year so ive done the deed and ill let you know if it works

You have the right to cut any part of the tree that over hangs your garden, copper nails also hammered into base will kill the tree

yes but the problem is 50 foot up vince and im 5foot6 lol heard of the copper nails trick but heard it takes years to have any affect cant get a ladder into it as there is five limbs at the base making it very hard to work on it but ill see if this works

Debarking a tree requires removing 12" wide ring round the base. Takes a while Wattie but if you have an awl drill into the centre and fill with diesel. remember that it will come down but where will depend on which way the wind is blowing. their is also the problem of it coming down on top of someone you love.. SO call in an expert Tree Surgeon and get them to do it safely. They wont charge you an arm and a leg then you can sell the remains off for logs and charge a £1 for 10 ready split and make a couple of hunred quid out of it. you need the excercise anyway. LOL

Just beware in couple of years you might find it`s fall on your shed.Just get it lopped to suitable size and save future problems.

I believe that you are entitled to cut back any overhanging branches, but any cuttings must be put back over to your neighbour....JBC/..

If you want to kill it find a root in your garden' bore a hole in this with an ogre or speed bit then feed the hole with diesel every day, when the tree dies it will be your neighbours responsibility to take it down and make it safe

Or just spend some ov your money Walter and get a tree surgeon to deal with it. :emoticon-0136-giggle: :emoticon-0136-giggle:

be glad to vince but its not my property im afraid it sits in a corner where 5 gardens meet but not in mine and theres a telegraph pole in the middle of it why bt do not get it cut back i dont know as there guys refuse to go up the pole when theres a fault as the tree now grows around the pole its just about shed all its leaves just now so its not as bad but im hoping by ringing it the branches that i cant get to will not grow leaves next year and that will stop the problem
