Guest bigda Posted August 16, 2016 Report Posted August 16, 2016 Shooting season, bang bang bang big flock of doos. all low flying in a west winds, hope to *expletive removed* the beaters got shot, and the tallys, they are a nightmare, they talk with their hands holding a shot gun.
hotrod Posted August 16, 2016 Report Posted August 16, 2016 St Boswells was a stinking race Stu, expletive remove its only a toss and we were waiting all day on most of our doos.I heard someone got one reported in south Wales, seemingly Glasgow fed get humped everytime they go there and we still go back????quite agree del about waiting , but some had a great race , m.hughes at clocks 2pm had 20/23 ,morris bros 5/5 , ive lost 25%(9/12) matt luke had 12/16 so that's 25% lost so even at that its still a bad race return wise for us . the convoyer reported a great lib and birds were away in seconds heading home and in the right direction , so what happened after that ? Shooting season, bang bang bang big flock of doos. all low flying in a west winds, hope to *expletive removed* the beaters got shot, and the tallys, they are a nightmare, they talk with their hands holding a shot gun.yes danny another factor .ive been saying this for years now .

A sure road tae disaster Billy, if ye keep giving them Anti's then the benefits will be of no use to you when they Really need it. Can take only a very short time to ruin their immune system. Try getting penicillin aff yer doc and see how difficult it is, they're no refusing us them for no reason !!!

Delboy Posted August 16, 2016 Report Posted August 16, 2016 quite agree del about waiting , but some had a great race , m.hughes at clocks 2pm had 20/23 ,morris bros 5/5 , ive lost 25%(9/12) matt luke had 12/16 so that's 25% lost so even at that its still a bad race return wise for us . the convoyer reported a great lib and birds were away in seconds heading home and in the right direction , so what happened after that ? At 60-80 miles 99% should be home Stu. We aren't coming through the beattock hills, they are scooting along from east to west, even the bad doos should be home.

Guest bigda Posted August 16, 2016 Report Posted August 16, 2016 Percey don't take what runs bout the ground, but the buzzards will, and gamekeepers have there own interest keeping the buzzard at bay. but. they don't concern us none . percey will take a duck or two, but they don't take to many cushies, as they are more on the ground, than in flight , racing pigeons, percey and a 12. Bore have more effect on us.
gulkie Posted August 16, 2016 Report Posted August 16, 2016 Glorious 12 tam ,and anything that comes over the hedge is fair game to some, there are over 120 shoots from here to the border, and about the same that are not supervised .You honestly think these guys that go out on the Glorious 12th and pay Fortunes for the privilege to shoot grouse are interested in shooting pigeonsCome on Danny.

William Reid Posted August 16, 2016 Report Posted August 16, 2016 Started racing pigeons in 2003 this season 2016 13 years later I see no difference to when I started.had very few reported then and very few now part of keeping pigeons just have to get on with itYears ago you could send your full young bird team to six races and pick from the team at the end of the fed program pigeons to go to the young bird national. For me we now have the type of young bird racing that it only takes one race from the young bird program and the young birds will learn everything the need to know to make them good old birds.JMHO.
