lanarkshire lad Posted May 30, 2016 Report Posted May 30, 2016 My son got one back yesterday hawked everybody's getting it .
frank-123 Posted May 30, 2016 Author Report Posted May 30, 2016 This time seems to be the worst. I think the young hawks leaving the nest cant quite grab the doos properly and the pigeons can get away.

I have 3 back this week hurt as well Robbie , I would say all 3 have flown into wires etc, I dont believe that most injuries are raptor related, imo more down to the north and east winds, more north east forecast for the weekend
gordi.b Posted May 30, 2016 Report Posted May 30, 2016 One home from Leicester last night minus a few flights and three missing , yb hawked last night as well
Tony C Posted May 30, 2016 Report Posted May 30, 2016 Do you think young hawks would be fledged already?photo taken on the 19th May, another couple of weeks till they fledge, the worse is yet to come.

Undoubtedly lots caused by hawks directly or cos of fleeing attack, but years ago when pigeons came home damaged we blamed wires or other obstacles but nowadays all injuries in some lofts are classed as hawked !!have pigeons now stopped hitting things by accident?
frank-123 Posted May 30, 2016 Author Report Posted May 30, 2016 Do you think young hawks would be fledged already? Think the next two or three weeks most will be up in the sky. They start laying in March into April ... 29 days till they hatch and a further 35 days until they leave the nest according to the Rspb site.
William Reid Posted May 30, 2016 Report Posted May 30, 2016 Had two away at the weekend only got one home.. The wound doesn't look as bad now.

I have more hurt this year but with the north in the wind most weeks I think that could be a big factor
