hesitating to answer , dont want to tempt fate . Mr Hawk has had 2 , 4 with injuries . also 3 latebreds not yet had freedom .around 30 to race ,which Mrs Burgess will be doing due to me being "out of action" for a while. :animatedpigeons:

Worst young bird team we've ever had!

Don't usually lose youngsters training - but this lot have barely been ranging around home - so have 4 missing in training so far

Lost a few off the loft, and one (breeder buyer of course) with a badly broken leg (just above the ankle - bone through the skin as well )is out of action

Sexes are going to be split today as we will have the room (old ones will be paired back up leaving an empty section) that usually makes a difference

First young bird race is not until next week

same as andy dont want to tempt fate but best team of ybs for a while, bred 35 1 lost training, thay are fully trained up for 1st race next week,

Very difficult to assess them after Saturday's strange/erratic race, my losses are about average by all accounts so the jury is still out on them.

About Saturday's race.........a friend was driving along the M8 around the time our birds would have been en route home, he seen 5 birds trying to land on the M8 itself and could only assume the shimmer from the heat on the tar looked like water to them because they were determined to land, he didn't see but if they did land they are gone for sure.

Something else to note was when the water was put into the drinkers on the baskets only about half a dozen baskets from the 160 on board had doos drinking from them in the first few minutes after the water was poured, if that had been old birds 160 baskets would have had birds drinking from them immediately.
