eastcoaster Posted May 27, 2013 Report Posted May 27, 2013 Used to be the biggest pooling fed in Scotland George. Even when we flew in it in 2005-2008 the competition was fierce.Maybe about 8 clubs in it I think. There are only 5 clubs in fed and Fauldhouse send with us and the convoy for the fed was 380 i am told, returns are some have them all others have been hit hard but now they want to cancel worchester and come back to somewhere like appleby 110 mls instead of 265 for worchester just to save money ,why not ask to be convyed by Lanarkshire it may be a bit off our route but at leased we would get some distance into them .I agree with a previous post we are too small now to go down the west on our own but as you said they will never change they would rather rap it than give an advantage to someone else jmo.

Hello lads I hope you are well, am after some info - basically I want to try and find out the birdages of the midland fed racepoints this season and where they raced from. I am trying to establish a pattern to discern whether we are better switching west from east with Ayrshire fed - there is a movement afoot to do so and I just want to put some figures out there for members to make an informed decision Do you have intimate knowledge of the fed's numbers mate or where I could find the info ? Best Regards Baz

As they are going the same route why did Pentland, Midlothian and Dundee not go together(yes I know!!!). Then wait at least half an hour for Lanarkshire as they are going a (slightly) different route.

andy Posted May 28, 2013 Report Posted May 28, 2013 I think its about time the Federations from the west should race from the west and the east Feds race from the east. As for the Nationals equal races from the east of France and the west of France sounds quite fair. (Ypres, Clermont, Rennes & Nantes)

Kyleakin Lofts Posted May 28, 2013 Report Posted May 28, 2013 I think its about time the Federations from the west should race from the west and the east Feds race from the east. As for the Nationals equal races from the east of France and the west of France sounds quite fair. (Ypres, Clermont, Rennes & Nantes) Was the move to the East not on the recommendation from the RSPB when they advocated this to avoid the BOP. What has happened is the BOP have expanded their territories and moved East, with some RSPB help, so the BOP problem is now countrywide, albeit possibly still a bit worse in the densely populated West. The Easterly Federations seem to fare better than the Westerly ones, probably because they do not require to dogleg across all the other Federations. Some of the Westerly Federations are discussing returning to the old routes for this reason.

I've my fingers crossed Midland will have the Northwest fed to keep them company down the West next season, but as with most things in pigeon racing there are mixed views on the matter.
