You should not require planning permission as long as it is not a permanent construction as I had my loft built on top of my double garage. The only problem I had with planning Dept was they wanted a handrail along the front in case someone fell off and I got round that by insisting it was not for the general public. Their were other minor problems which were all solved by my friendly councilor.

Storms On Its Way , From The Met Office
peter pandy replied to THE FIFER's topic in Weather Forecasts and Links
It was only a couple of weeks ago that we were to be hit by stormy weather and Feds put back their race marking while others carried on and had good returns in lovely weather. The amount of times this year I have responded to bad weather forecasts and left birds at home whether training or racing has affected my preperations and am now totally disregarding weather forecasts. As the weather forecaster reported the other day which I shared with members IT WILL BE WET FOR SOME AND DRY FOR OTHERS. -
Definately a Sparrowhawk as the Peregrine has a distinct yellow face and a Goshawk is the size of a Buzzard.

I would have thought every fancier would have known the reason behind the hole in a bean for goodness sake. for all you guys that feed beans the facts are. A bean plant grows and forms a flower which developes into a bean pod, meanwhile along comes a beetle which lays an egg within the flower which developes into a pod and is enveloped within a growing bean. As the egg hatches into a weevil it is already encaptured within the bean and its only way out is by eating its escape hence the hole.

Having looked at the result I believe it is fair to say that the West birds would not cross the Southern Uplands and have came up the East running valleys breaking back into the West south of the Pentlands around Peebles proving the belief that the Southern Uplands is impassable due to the scum of the skies and a National win is now virtually impossible to the West Section birds. None in the first 100 positions in a South East wind surely proves it.

Have a hundred garlic bulbs to strip, blend and freeze in ice cube trays when the wife gets round to it. Then I require a gutter and down pipe fitted when the Son in Law can find the time to do that. Then I have 250 yards of hedging to cut before winter sets in and my son can do that. The 4 lawns will require a late cut but can wait till the wife finishes with the garlic. The loft will have its annual burning when my son has finished with the hedges and the Son in Law will take two inches from the top of my flower bed and replace it with new compost. When they have completed all their chores outside I will supervise the redecorating of the house by the afore-mentioned whilst I am reading a couple of books. It is really tiring when you have to think up activities for others to do. <_<

Most interesting subject and one I have some experience off. When the wife and I were forced into retirement we decided to return to Central Scotland where our families are. Having never claimed unemployment benefit in 50 years of employment paying Tax and Insurance we thought it would be a foregone conclusion that we would be housed by the District Council with our circumstances such that we were living in our daughter's garage ! How wrong could we be. Having been instructed on the bidding system introduced by the SNP Government we pursued this dilligently for 6 months without success and went to see an old Councillor friend who informed us we had only one foot on the bottom rung of the ladder. He then proceeded to give us the run down of priority persons entitled to housing and all the benefits to go with it. Newly released prisoners from jail, Unmarried mothers under 21 years of age, Paedophials, Alchoholics, Invalidity, Drug users, Mental Health, Separated Women from Husbands with children, And all Councils MUST keep 50 houses for immigrants. Their were more but by this time it was all flying over our heads. It seems being born in this country and never claiming benefits of any kind in your working life is a disadvantage and totally pis**s me off and by the way we are surrounded by this type of human being. Pigeon fanciers are excluded from the list. :emoticon-0179-headbang:
