  12. Having reread all the posts on this topic it has come to mind that Buster wants to fly Natural and the problem is not one single post has described HOW to win on natural because hardly a soul including myself does it anymore. The reason being we want to send as many as possible each week which you cannot do on natural due to nesting condition. So Buster I will tell you what no one else has told you. We will start with the Cocks. The very best condition with a Cock is a 12/13 day youngster BUT it has to be his first youngster of the year and you will only get him once, Do not even try to get him twice in a year as he wont do it a second time. Hens are in the same boat, the very best condition is her first young at 6 days but that can change when racing her out on sitting eggs as I had one who was virtually unbeatable on 13 day eggs. The beauty of natural against other systems is you will have the knowledge of puting a bird away that will be trying its almighty best against a flyer who wont know his birds condition because it is being sent the same condition week in week out on widowhood or roundabout. Stick to it my son and you will learn more about pigeons and have much more satisfaction. Pigeon racing is not only about who wins races because their are many factors involved but respect is gained to those who only send one or two and beats the majority in the percentage factors.
  13. Quite a considerable amount of useful information given and I believe most importent advice is size of loft and 60 birds within. I do believe and I am sure most would agree that 40 birds should be the maximum. Your dampness is obviously a problem but you state that it is at this time of year so I must assume that the floor is dry when the weather is kinder, I dont think I would go knocking six bells out of the woodwork before treating myself to a barometer complete with hygrometer and you would be able to tell when your floor was suffering from damp as determined by the air humidity in the loft in comparison with outside. I have noticed in my locality the humidity is rarely above 85% what with all the rain etc over the last couple of months,. To put it in layman's terms When was the last time you hung a washing out and brought it in dry ready for ironing ?.
  14. If I recall the R.P was 5P back then and a cwt of top feeding "50Kgs" was 25Pence.

  16. Roughly £7.50 basing it on the fact that Petrol was 2 shillings 6 pence a gallon and is now £7.50.
  17. My first thought was the sloping to the front roof. My roof slopes that way but I put a gutter along front and their is no water ingress. My second thought is you never mentioned how many birds you have and how much water are they going through daily in your drinkers.
  18. 17.5 Pence
  19. Still never had it.
  20. I have two Borderdales. The Dog follows me into the loft and mixes well with the birds but the female I dont trust with them so is barred reason being she climbes up through the hedges and any birds nests are destroyed. Have had them from pups and are now 30 months old.
  21. Its not me that's backtracking its newbie Sandy that is not letting on that Kinky Bridge is still open and by picking me up he could'nt have the excuse of getting lost. I am trying my best for you guys up there in the wilderness.
