Roland Posted June 28, 2018 Report Posted June 28, 2018 (edited) So you are telling me they will be fecked at 1 o’clock tomorrow if they are still in the baskets? But they will be much better at say 5oclock in the morning? Of course Realism and sensible. Sun it at it's highest from Noon on wards. that's a Fact that! Edited June 28, 2018 by Roland

But they will be much better at say 5oclock in the morning?Surely the wagon isn't sitting in the sun right now? So logically it will be cooler thru the night and first thing in the morning...thats obvious surely? If you lib at lunchtime the birds will be moved to the lib site during the morning as it heats up...will be sitting in the hottest part of the day while they are settled and watered and then libbed into the hottest part of the day...sorry but that's not for me. At the end of the day u hope to time in whenever they go

To appease those shorter flyers who gain all the credit... Undeserved as it is, and also robs mant great genuine pigeons the merit that they deserve!
eastcoaster Posted June 28, 2018 Report Posted June 28, 2018 Mid day lib means a total lottery and defeats the point of going 500 mls .jmo
WulDon Posted June 28, 2018 Report Posted June 28, 2018 Im afraid ye have to admit it, a mid day liberation at the distance races levels it up a great deal and has been proven in races before. All birds out overnight and equally fresh in the morning definitely makes a truer result, but, we all love a doo on the night fae the gold cup. Thats the dream !! but I know exactly where Jim is coming fae MID DAY LIB... IT THEN BECOMES A LOTTERY!
dava Posted June 28, 2018 Report Posted June 28, 2018 Just checked the weather forecast and there is a lot of mist and low cloud in the channel where the doos should cross over think Saturday looks far superior for doos crossing the water j mo
gordi.b Posted June 28, 2018 Report Posted June 28, 2018 To be fair, ive got 5 away that normally do it in two shifts anyway!!!! :lol:Same strain as mine lol
WulDon Posted June 28, 2018 Report Posted June 28, 2018 The pigeons are fresh then it’s better facing the hot temps when they are fresh as opposed to flying six or seven hours then having to face the hottest part of the day I think your comment is ridiculous. YOU'VE LOST THE PLOT PAL!
lanarkshire lad Posted June 28, 2018 Author Report Posted June 28, 2018 YOU'VE LOST THE PLOT PAL!Am no your pal.

King billy 2 Posted June 28, 2018 Report Posted June 28, 2018 Shouldn't be racing in this heat short or long
dunc50 Posted June 28, 2018 Report Posted June 28, 2018 Mid day lib means a total lottery and defeats the point of going 500 mls .jmo Spot on it's an endurance race and the one that makes it on the shift is king, or queen for a year and deserves the bragging rights, so get them up early,

eastcoaster Posted June 28, 2018 Report Posted June 28, 2018 hope your rite davy would love tae see my bird come from this race You should be fine tommy think the weather on Tuesday will be ok lol, Joking aside good luck .
DJH Posted June 28, 2018 Report Posted June 28, 2018 No longer racing pigeons myself, but fully understand the stature of this race, and some lofts have been geared towards this all season. But if you truly have the welfare of your "best" birds at hear, should you really be sending knowing what they will most likely face. Like I say, I no longer race, so my opinion means *expletive removed* all. All the very best for whenever the birds get up. As always I will be watching the race unfold. 👠ðŸ‘

border terrier lofts Posted June 28, 2018 Report Posted June 28, 2018 Midday lib fairest race for the whole of the country , but to time on the shift no betting feeling in the world. Best of luck to each and everyone think it's going to be a very tough race , but someone's dream will come true all the best.
Rooster J. Cogburn Posted June 28, 2018 Report Posted June 28, 2018 early lib or midday lib, it'll be a brute. Think it would be worth considering bringing the birds home. I hope I'm wrong, but going on the forecast and my gut instinct this race will kill pigeons and won't be the Gold Cup saviour we all want.
shasha Posted June 28, 2018 Report Posted June 28, 2018 We all new the forcast befor we sent so why bother now.
Rooster J. Cogburn Posted June 28, 2018 Report Posted June 28, 2018 We all new the forcast befor we sent so why bother now. Damage limitation I suppose lol. I've not sent, but really do hope for the birds and the club's sake it turns out alright. Over 4000 birds and £11500 down on this time last year, got to hope it's a good race.
