Walter swanston Posted November 11, 2017 Report Posted November 11, 2017 Used to get really good stuff on this site such as What's gone wrong with the SNFC or solutions to the predator problem or fanciers whom we all respect explaining their training methods we used to get loft visits and long time pigeon fanciers expounding their views Now we get rivetingly important stuff such as when and how often you change your undererwea.

just ask me Posted November 11, 2017 Report Posted November 11, 2017 It's the same every year breeding will start for some soon and things will pick up again I did hear of some people that are going pair up very soon why they do it I don't know
airdrie2 Posted November 11, 2017 Report Posted November 11, 2017 maybe scared to voice an opinion now ?
Kyleakin Lofts Posted November 11, 2017 Report Posted November 11, 2017 Early breeding - Any age racing or early training to beat the hawk, but usually when they are taking to wing is when the sparrowhawk hen is filling up before she starts to sit nest.Any site I've ever been on, this is always the quiet time. perhaps as AGM season gets going more debate will start and certainly now a new SNFC secretary is required there could be some debate. Race programmes due to be discussed by those who don't / didn't attend their relative meeting, etc.
Froog Posted November 12, 2017 Report Posted November 12, 2017 Facebook forums are killing off most web site forums, FB ones are always active, and don't ban things like swearing....move with the times
showman Posted November 12, 2017 Report Posted November 12, 2017 Facebook forums are killing off most web site forums, FB ones are always active, and don't ban things like swearing....move with the times What complete and utter nonsense. I take it by this, you are endorsing the use of cursing on this site. It's against the rules, simple as that. Does it mean you have to have the swearing ability to stay with the times? This is an open forum, and can be viewed by a world-wide audience. I have recent memories of when PB indeed had members from around the world. Not so many, if any, now. With all due respect to Archie, PB holds no attraction to worldly members any more(OMO) and few on a UK basis.

I was a member on Fife Bikers for years, and FB forums killed it off, but I never said it needs swearing, it was only one thing I implied.....and lo and behold, along comes the answer I expected. We are all adults on here, most of us quite old, I don't want you to dictate what language I use, unless its extreme. why should you dictate to me if I can swear or not? lets face it, we all do. OMO

Wiley Posted November 12, 2017 Report Posted November 12, 2017 Blackpool e full of young bird sales you can bet
Novice Posted November 12, 2017 Report Posted November 12, 2017 It's a commercial decision by the RPRA to increase their ring sales. However, it will allow natural youngsters to compete with darkened ones.We all have a greater choice now breed early or not. There have always been individuals who received their rings before other club members depending on their relationship with club officials.

Kyleakin Lofts Posted November 12, 2017 Report Posted November 12, 2017 I'll go with that Steve.Oh and bloody rings at the beginning of December, what the hell's all that about.2017 birds with 2018 rings on. All I am able to assume regarding this, is that because one union issues rings early, the RPRA are jumping on the bandwagon instead of vilifying the practice. 2018 YB's are all born on 1st January, or at least should be just as all racehorses are. I receive my rings mid-December. I sort them into Club batches and supply the Clubs by late December. The Secretaries are instructed to, and to the best of my knowledge, distribute the rings to members not before 1st January.
Cliftonlad Posted November 12, 2017 Report Posted November 12, 2017 Replied to Mr Swanston’s opening post last night with a honest answer but it was swiftly removed !! What the point ??Have you been a bad boy Chris. Hope u weren't swearing not allowed, you must have upset someone with your post
Ian McKay Posted November 12, 2017 Report Posted November 12, 2017 Have you been a bad boy Chris. Hope u weren't swearing not allowed, you must have upset someone with your post Yup post was ok but first 3 words were not acceptable especially being aimed at an elder member of our society I unnaproved it Chris (Ian) Light hearted humor and banter which consists of this type of language ALWAYS ends in problems and admin and mods are left to sort it out and it does not matter which way, someone is not pleased Please show some respect for your elders I am sure you were taught that at school
Walter swanston Posted November 12, 2017 Author Report Posted November 12, 2017 I made the first post not to upset anyone but I ain't no shrinking violet ,I hope I can accept criticism despite being pretty ancient.I must confess to being slightly surprised at the lack of comment over the resignation of the hard working and popular secretary of the Scottish National Flying Club.
paddymac Posted November 12, 2017 Report Posted November 12, 2017 Blackpool e full of young bird sales you can betDefinately Ryan and it will suit the studs all round as they will have extra time now for starting their breeding in November.
