Rules: What Not To Do

Users of the Pigeonbasics.com Forum shall not:

 

• Members should post in a way that is respectful of other individuals. Flaming, abusing or discriminating against individuals in any way will not be tolerated
• Content which has been removed by a member of forum staff should not be republished
• Members should remember this board is aimed at a general audience. Posting pornographic,unlawful, or generally offensive text, images, links, etc. will not be tolerated
• Members are asked to respect the copyright and bandwidth of other individuals, groups or organisations and should not:
  • re-print material where it is expressly forbidden
  • publish plagiarized information or pictures in their own name
  • use inline image tags pointing to data stored on third party systems

  [*]Members should not post links to their own/ club, Fed sites unless . relevant in discussion. This can be construed as self-promotion and therefore spam However, linking in a members signature or avatar of their own personal site is permitted with the exception of sales, forum`s, chat sites,face book, llinks to other sites and auction/sale's sites.

  members found to be offering items for sale or asking members to go to other sites through their pm system will have their pm facility withdrawn.[*]Members should not act as "back seat moderators." If members note an issue which contravenes something in this policy document they are welcome to bring it to the attention of a member of forum staff by using the "report to webmaster" function[*]Each forum and thread has a specific topic area and users should not make off-topic posts[*]Members should post in a way which is consistent with "normal writing." That is users should not:

  • post excessive numbers of emoticons or images
  • use large, small or multicoloured text
  • SHOUT or use excessive punctuation (e.g. ! and ?) in topic titles or posts
  • use "txt spk," but post using full words and proper grammar

  [*]Members should use an appropriate, descriptive title when posting a new topic[*]You should not 'dig up' an old thread unless you have something worthwhile to post in it[*]You should not post two messages in a row in the same thread unless the previous message is more than 48 hours old and you have something new to add[*]When creating a poll, users should set an expiry date up to a suggested maximum of 28 days[*]The above forum rules (where applicable) also apply to private messaging, signatures, avatars or any other part of your user profile

In addition to:

• upload, post,copy or otherwise make available any content that we deem to be harmful, threatening, unlawful, defamatory, infringing, abusive, inflammatory, harassing, vulgar, obscene, fraudulent, invasive of privacy or publicity rights, hateful, or racially, ethnically or otherwise objectionable;
• register for more than one User account, register for a User account on behalf of an individual other than yourself;
• impersonate any person or entity, or falsely state or otherwise misrepresent yourself, your age or your affiliation with any person or entity;
• intimidate or harass another;
• upload, post, copy or otherwise make available content that would constitute, encourage or provide instructions for a criminal offence, violate the rights of any party, or that would otherwise create liability or violate any local, national or international law;
• upload, post,copy or otherwise make available content that, in the sole judgment of Pigeonbasics.com, is objectionable or which restricts or inhibits any other person from using or enjoying the Site, or which may expose Pigeonbasics.com or its Users to any harm or liability of any type.
• promote cause that could damage the name and reputation of the pigeonbasics.com website within the confines of the website or via third party media

User Disputes

You are solely responsible for your interactions with other Pigeonbasics.com Message Forum Users.(or others outwith the site) We reserve the right, but have no obligation, to monitor disputes between you and other Users. or organisations in or outwith the site.

Signatures & Avatars

• Any signature image must be no wider than 500 pixels. Signature sizes and animations must be reasonable.
  
• Avatar animations must be reasonable
  
• The administrators reserve the right to remove or modify any signature or avatar which:
  - breaches the general forum rules
  - contains unreasonable animations
  - is unreasonably large or otherwise inappropriate
  This decision will be made on a case-by-case basis and is non-negotiable.

Please be aware of the amendment to the site rule relating to the advertising of other sites within a members signature or avatar.

 

This amendment will be implemented from Sunday 21st November 2010.
