walterboswell59 Posted October 30, 2016 Report Posted October 30, 2016 for the past year or two i have been having a problem with very bad pains in my calf when only walking a short distance which had got so bad that i had to sit down after walking only twenty to thirty yards and could only stand without pain for 5 mins or so anyway james has had the same problem for years and had to have stents put in to help but it has not helped him so far anyway while we where building his new loft a few weeks ago and both moaning how sore our legs were jim said one of his consultants once told him to try drinking some soda water everyday jim did not try it as he said he did not like the taste so i told helen to get me a few bottles from morrisons worked out about 35 pence a bottle so cheap enough put one bottle in the fridge as i can drink most anything if its cold for 8 days i had half a glass first thing in the morning and after hobbling across the road told jim his consultant was talking s e it did not work or maybe i was not drinking enough but next morning on the 9th day no pain thought i was just having a good day but went to work lifting pallets in and out of the van and no pain in the legs that was about two weeks ago and after taking the half glass of sodawater each morning i have been pain free cant believe something so simple has worked as id been loading up with pain killers and blood thinners just to function but there you go and jim still has not tried it ive told him to try a little lime in it if he does not like the taste me id drink p s if i thought it would make me feel better lol so anyone with the same problem give it a try best tip ive had in years and if cold its not bad to drink but give it time to work and let us know how you get on

Big Davie Posted October 31, 2016 Report Posted October 31, 2016 Soda water is also very good for relieving gout which can be extremely painful did not know that davie as i also suffer from gout so maybe two birds with the one stoneWattie Soda water contains bicarbonate of soda' check the label' if you get a flare up of gout try 1/2 a teaspoon of baking soda in a 1/2 cup of water 3 times a day and you will get pain relief an hour after drinking the first cup' have found that by drinking soda water it stops you getting a bout in the first instance, after a couple of extremely painful attacks l now drink soda water every day, it works by alkalising your system allowing the uric acid crystals to disperse
