  12. I agree with the BOP been left to fend for themselves we have been sending them meals on wheels for far too long but this will only work if all fanciers keep their birds isolated for a couple of months while BOP are feeding ? I cant see this happening regards peter
  13. the sad facts fanciers are there own worse enemies must say I always enjoyed Peters writings
  14. not paired up but plenty of 10 mile tosses all roads to Rome bets of luck for the coming season
  15. have seen some of the best lofts come down with sickness due to introducing birds from Foreign lofts I have seen some top lots in Ireland go backward due to bringing in foreign birds ? I am not advocating not to go there are some great birds but you must be careful to quarantine any new birds best of luck to the buyers peter
  16. many years ago the Avoca Mines that would pump there afall into the river our birds would go to what was known as the Island in centre of town of Arklow there they would freely drink and bath themselves you could clearly see the copper ore along the island those birds were super healthy and never seemed to have any bother from Canker hope this helps refards peter

  19. hi folks wishing you all a very peaceful Christmas as I wanted to do a new post but dont realy know how to with the death of our good friend James Owen I feel that our fancy has lost another great thinking fancier and these people are getting thin on the ground due to age ect Owen is one of the fanciers that I have tried to encourage to write a book on his pigeon exploits, alas its now to late for this to happen, we have some very talented fanciers on Basics, so I would like to appeal to them to give some thoughts on writing down there systems and fads that they used to get them to the top of our sport ??? you dont have to publish it right now but it would be nice if you could leave that legacy for when you have gone to the big loft in the sky there are a few fanciers on here who would be more than capable of doing such a book then we would be still talking about such a fancier for years to come kindest regards to all peter

  22. that is scary just goes to show you cant be careful enough when it comes to our health, wearing a loft coat and mask is so important to us fanciers and not going into the house and sitting around in contaminated clothes ? there is a lesson here for us all
