dal2 Posted June 26, 2016 Report Posted June 26, 2016 The SNRPC got a great race, again. They were off an hour earlier
Jumbo Posted June 26, 2016 Report Posted June 26, 2016 The SNRPC got a great race, again. What your thoughts on why Derek ??? OMO. The transport they use and a day less in the basket ,must help the birds ????
naedoos Posted June 26, 2016 Report Posted June 26, 2016 for one stop changing the race points every year have some stability maybe that why the snrpc seemed to get a better race from reims as they have stuck with that race point Correct!! 2 new race points 2 Stinkers!! Wonder what the final channel race be like??
blue pied Posted June 26, 2016 Report Posted June 26, 2016 What your thoughts on why Derek ??? OMO. The transport they use and a day less in the basket ,must help the birds ????easier access to the water also.
Delboy Posted June 26, 2016 Report Posted June 26, 2016 What your thoughts on why Derek ??? OMO. The transport they use and a day less in the basket ,must help the birds ???? 100%
Novice Posted June 26, 2016 Report Posted June 26, 2016 think the problem was the weather guys not the race point and i wanted them up on friday to so no point in me complaining There is a wealth of information available on the met office site to help people understand weather. There is a section explaining thunderstorms and how the water droplets rising within a thunder cloud form ice which can fall as hail. It also explains how the base of the cloud becomes negatively charged. This is accompanied by a chart showing the incidence if thunderstorms by location. The highest frequency is in the SE of England especially during the summer months. Yet, we take our birds as Far East as possible. There is very little logic in that as far as I can see. Unless I am mistaken the birds arrived at Reims on Thursday when the ambient temperature was around 30 degrees. Goodness knows what it was inside the baskets.
ALF Posted June 26, 2016 Report Posted June 26, 2016 29/252?? There is only 29 on the libline but i know Davy Burns had 10/17 last night and only 3 of them are on the libline Left the loft the back of 4 and still 0/3
hotrod Posted June 26, 2016 Report Posted June 26, 2016 One thing that,s stuck out since the lib was what was said birds were liberated and cleared in a north easterly direction , have a look at a map that takes them right through Belgium Holland and up into Denmark , I spoke with a very prominent snfc fancier this morning about this and he agreed that prob most birds never came across the channel , one of the main reasons the snrpc go a day later is the transport used fits into the Chunnel on the trains and after speaking to the convoyer he was at race point early the very next day . And a big question to me was why the hour between the libs from 7-45 to 8-45 , ????? Ps I'm not blaming anyone or having a dig just pointing out facts .
naedoos Posted June 26, 2016 Report Posted June 26, 2016 Sorry to hear that Alan, I feel for everyone that had heavy losses. Still I don't feel that even 36/252 makes for a "great" race.
naedoos Posted June 26, 2016 Report Posted June 26, 2016 That's more than 10% eejit heed If you're happy wi 10% then am no the eejit
hotrod Posted June 26, 2016 Report Posted June 26, 2016 If you're happy wi 10% then am no the eejit Got to agree a bit dougie nether were good races ,but think the snrpc % wise was a better race .
naedoos Posted June 26, 2016 Report Posted June 26, 2016 Got to agree a bit dougie nether were good races ,but think the snrpc % wise was a better race . Cannae argue wi that Stuart but think none of them should have been put up wi the weather that was forecast
hotrod Posted June 26, 2016 Report Posted June 26, 2016 Cannae argue wi that Stuart but think none of them should have been put up wi the weather that was forecastI had none away dougie so can speak without any anger , personally the club/s should follow the Irish by altering there dates because of inclement weather conditions , yes some will say but we have to book halls etc , but IMHO birds welfare should come first . Ps everyone seen what the weather was to be before they sent .

naedoos Posted June 26, 2016 Report Posted June 26, 2016 I had none away dougie so can speak without any anger , personally the club/s should follow the Irish by altering there dates because of inclement weather conditions , yes some will say but we have to book halls etc , but IMHO birds welfare should come first . Ps everyone seen what the weather was to be before they sent . Birds welfare should always come first but I'm sure the majority that sent would have been hoping the weather would get a bit better for the race and if not then at least the birds be held until conditions were more suitable. I've heard it said that you should be your own controller but in races like this then I feel you should be able to have some confidence in the controllers given the predicted forecast. I also realise it's a thankless job that's why I never comment on controllers but they got it wrong this time, big time. We also never sent so like you have no axe to grind but still feel for all the guys that have lost good pigeons that should have made it.
frank-123 Posted June 26, 2016 Report Posted June 26, 2016 Taxie for frank Taxi for the doos as there in none left
Delboy Posted June 26, 2016 Report Posted June 26, 2016 Like every bad race people put there opinions on here but nobody knows what happened and never will. That's true but if we do things correctly at management level then we are half way there to successful racing. Like every thread on here , no two folk could agree on the colour of shyte and there you have the 1ST major problem in pigeon racing. Opinions are like azzholes, everyones got one. Surely, sometimes we have got to all sing off the same hymn sheet to get things sorted AND BENEFIT THE BIRDS AND THE SPORTS LONGEVITY.
tommy bhoys Posted June 26, 2016 Report Posted June 26, 2016 Taxi for the doos as there in none leftweather forcast was there for everyone tae see frank
