greenlands Posted December 11, 2015 Report Posted December 11, 2015 I cut about six inch off the top of the perspex on the sliding doors and windows for more ventilation.
buster151 Posted December 11, 2015 Report Posted December 11, 2015 buster i would have a guess and say you are the most westerly flyer in your club then...what is the difference between the longest flyer and yourself on average? Big pete on site, i would say could be in a similar situation to you but he has to give most members overfly of 6-8 miles, and some of the results he done in his first year was exceptional, but he was taken under the wing by two fanciers, and followed their systems to the tee, and he had a number of 2nd places in the club against the wind, on days he shouldnt have got them and just got beaten on the overfly he gave the winners. Personally i would suggest you do something similar approach a fancier and see if he could have the time to give to you, and just follow that one mans ways, and see where you go from their result wise. And maybe make a specially thread where you can say any differences your noticing throughout the season and how the advice is different to what you was doing previously, bit like a dairy, could make interesting readingThe diary is a good idea, and well done Pete, Im only giving between 2 and 21/2miles
Tony C Posted December 11, 2015 Report Posted December 11, 2015 I have a small 8x6 that Im going to use when internal work finishedYou should seriously consider housing 9-12 w/hood cocks in this loft leaving the 18x6 loft for youngsters/hens/stock.
peter pandy Posted December 12, 2015 Report Posted December 12, 2015 Having reread all the posts on this topic it has come to mind that Buster wants to fly Natural and the problem is not one single post has described HOW to win on natural because hardly a soul including myself does it anymore. The reason being we want to send as many as possible each week which you cannot do on natural due to nesting condition. So Buster I will tell you what no one else has told you. We will start with the Cocks. The very best condition with a Cock is a 12/13 day youngster BUT it has to be his first youngster of the year and you will only get him once, Do not even try to get him twice in a year as he wont do it a second time. Hens are in the same boat, the very best condition is her first young at 6 days but that can change when racing her out on sitting eggs as I had one who was virtually unbeatable on 13 day eggs. The beauty of natural against other systems is you will have the knowledge of puting a bird away that will be trying its almighty best against a flyer who wont know his birds condition because it is being sent the same condition week in week out on widowhood or roundabout. Stick to it my son and you will learn more about pigeons and have much more satisfaction. Pigeon racing is not only about who wins races because their are many factors involved but respect is gained to those who only send one or two and beats the majority in the percentage factors.

andy Burgess Posted January 31, 2016 Author Report Posted January 31, 2016 Well I have the first youngster of the year few more on eggs best of luck Buster , hope all goes well
Tony C Posted February 29, 2016 Report Posted February 29, 2016 IMO your best to target the comeback races in the 2nd half of the old bird season. This is the time fanciers start splitting their teams to compete at the longer races. By doing so many w/hood fliers shoot themselves in the foot by disrupting the day to day routine resulting in a loss of form. Twin this with them not sending full strength teams may swing the pendulum somewhat in your favour. Do the reverse of what their doing, set yours up for the shorter races.
