seaforth Posted April 7, 2015 Report Posted April 7, 2015 Getting there be ready in time had 3 tosses 2x 15 miles last week then a 30 mile today same tomorrow and then hopefully a couple of 10-15 milers start of next week. But birds have been flying out all year and training round the house well so nothing much more I can do. Up to them now.
Valiant Fifer Posted April 7, 2015 Report Posted April 7, 2015 TO be honest i'm nowhere near ready, not even started yet. Still plenty of time i think.
b.massey Posted April 8, 2015 Report Posted April 8, 2015 As ready as I can be, 7 tosses and been down to Kelso, Carter Barr this weekend if OK weather, Only 12 birds (Started with 12) and 7 are only really racing to show qualify so I doubt I'll be setting world alight Hopefully setting up young birds down my new location and that should kick start my racing career (40 young)
flying fifer Posted April 8, 2015 Report Posted April 8, 2015 Hope to get a few tosses in this weekend, birds flying well round loft twice a day. If they get 6 tosses up to 15/20 miles, just to get the yearling cocks clued up then I will be happy. Am toying with the idea of starting to train my "lightness" YB's along with the old birds. All has not gone to plan with these birds. Started with 20, now down to 12, one with a broken leg. They are flying for fun, 2hrs+ at a time, BOP has been picking them off from early doors. Unless we win the YB National with one of them, won't be trying this system again. AW THE BEST
alex young Posted April 8, 2015 Report Posted April 8, 2015 I've not split mine yet so will send them sitting on saturday.Cocks and hens have each had 3 tosses 15mls,that's all they got last year, they are flying well around the loft.
paddymac Posted April 8, 2015 Report Posted April 8, 2015 im ready now after yesterdays toss...lol 5 tosses under their belts out to 60 mile...couple of we handy 12/20 milers at the weekend and thats them ready to go open hole last 4 weeks and all naturalIf we're not ready after that weekend toss Mick, they'll never be ready . I have another few older ones to start but they'll not need as much road work so will be ready in a few weeks.
