Deep Litter Choice For Yb

considering deep litter for the yb this year......so whats your choice answers on a postcard please

for me its "Easy-bed" every time ,good quality and cheap as wood chips

Use Easybed (not to much)in young bird section for a 2/3 weeks after weaning ! Gradually scrape it all oot !! Use Easybed in all sections in the off season ! The only thing I dina like about it is you trail it everywhere

never worked a deep ltter system b4 (just a wee trench wae year's of dried dropping in the old yb loft). so mibby got the wrong end of the stick but thought deep litter was mostly droppings with fresh layer of bedding ie easy bed added each year to top...but no body seems to be mentioning the sh** lol

Have been using Easi-Bed for many years now, its the nuts.

I use Hemperade (Dried Hemp core) and find it excellent for the y.b loft.

I use dry kiln sand now. I tried easy bed, nice product but it did my head in sticking to your feet. I like the sand and just sieve it weekly.

It looks horrible, but I admit pigeons love deep litter for some reason. Seems like their more at hope in a proper environment. Lets face it know one goes around town buildings cleaning out attics and derelict buildings for them do they! :emoticon-0138-thinking: :emoticon-0138-thinking:
