Guest Cawdy Posted March 15, 2015 Report Posted March 15, 2015 considering deep litter for the yb this year......so whats your choice answers on a postcard please
andy Burgess Posted March 15, 2015 Report Posted March 15, 2015 for me its "Easy-bed" every time ,good quality and cheap as wood chips
paddymac Posted March 15, 2015 Report Posted March 15, 2015 Same here Andy, I use easy bed and as you say its cheap
greenbar Posted March 15, 2015 Report Posted March 15, 2015 easi-bed only for the y/bs, the old ones make their nests in it,
Dooheed 5 Posted March 15, 2015 Report Posted March 15, 2015 Use Easybed (not to much)in young bird section for a 2/3 weeks after weaning ! Gradually scrape it all oot !! Use Easybed in all sections in the off season ! The only thing I dina like about it is you trail it everywhere
Guest Cawdy Posted March 15, 2015 Report Posted March 15, 2015 never worked a deep ltter system b4 (just a wee trench wae year's of dried dropping in the old yb loft). so mibby got the wrong end of the stick but thought deep litter was mostly droppings with fresh layer of bedding ie easy bed added each year to top...but no body seems to be mentioning the sh** lol
scott mca Posted March 15, 2015 Report Posted March 15, 2015 easi-bed in young bird loft and stock loft
William Reid Posted March 15, 2015 Report Posted March 15, 2015 True deep litter is the pigeons droppings with nothing added.
Big Davie Posted March 16, 2015 Report Posted March 16, 2015 True deep litter is the pigeons droppings with nothing added. That's a load of sheit

William Reid Posted March 16, 2015 Report Posted March 16, 2015 That's a load of sheit. :emoticon-0137-clapping:
MIK Posted March 16, 2015 Report Posted March 16, 2015 my hens chite from over the winter and loft granules raked through
Tony C Posted March 16, 2015 Report Posted March 16, 2015 Have been using Easi-Bed for many years now, its the nuts.
schyphos Posted March 17, 2015 Report Posted March 17, 2015 I use Hemperade (Dried Hemp core) and find it excellent for the y.b loft.
The Navigator Posted March 22, 2015 Report Posted March 22, 2015 I use dry kiln sand now. I tried easy bed, nice product but it did my head in sticking to your feet. I like the sand and just sieve it weekly.
Valiant Fifer Posted March 22, 2015 Report Posted March 22, 2015 It looks horrible, but I admit pigeons love deep litter for some reason. Seems like their more at hope in a proper environment. Lets face it know one goes around town buildings cleaning out attics and derelict buildings for them do they! :emoticon-0138-thinking: :emoticon-0138-thinking:
