do you fly alone or have you got a partner? what are the pros and cons? I fly on my own at the min but finding somewhat of a struggle...

i fly with my old fella, there are alot of pros with being partners as many hands make light work, money because we split the feed bills birds that we buy and the cost of petrol for training and so on, 2 pairs of eyes in the loft are better than one for picking up on stuff that one might miss, nearly all of the members in our club have partners or helpers.

the cons are arguing over which bird we are going to nom!

My wife and me are partners,we discuss everything together but have decided she will do all the breeding and I will decide what goes to any given race,we never argue over any of it,she takes the birds training so that is a big bonus,Liz and her mentally handicapped sister have taken to the racing and wait each week enthusiastically for birds

I am a bit like you Andy if it wasnt for the wife the birds would have to go ,i would think about a partner but not so easy getting some one in small town thats interested.

I have two partners, both of my sons, both a great help in different ways, dont think I could have a partner who wasnt closly related.

I'm in partnership with my now retired dad.He comes down first thing to either let them out or train them, clean them out and feed and water as I am away to work at 05.30.I see to them at night when home from work.He dosen,t interfere in any decisions I make on what,s going to races or matings. We also put £10 each by every week of the year towards expenses.Could not do it without him.

thanks for the responses! i have flew with my dad last year and its safe to say it didn't go to plan, ended up ending after one season so i think thats a no go :)

Currently thinking of a flying partner, But it's not the easiest person to find.. Just have to hang on in there til someone pops up ;)

I've flown with 2 different partners it's ok while your reading off the same page it's better taking in a new starter b4 racing so you have your system down

and he's learning off you or your partner is a winning experienced fancier and your flying to his system or you'll find problems arise very quickly

My advice reduce your team and fly hens
