peter pandy Posted June 6, 2014 Report Posted June 6, 2014 WHY... When the Met forecast for the next 4-5 days is extremely doubtful for a successful Buckingham race have our committee not taken the bull by the horns and advised the membership of a possible Friday liberation. The transporter would have been on site by 09.00 Hrs this morning and could have prepared for an 11.00 liberation which would have the birds arriving into the Borders at 17.00 Hrs, Central Scotland 18.00 Hrs and the North Sec for 20.00. This in my and many others thought's, would have been the sensible action of a Committee who have the SNFC foremost in their endeavours for the success of the club. The excuse that the Management Committee is not mandated to make those decisions does not apply as they are appointed to look after its races or anything connected therewith. Guest IB Posted June 6, 2014 Report Posted June 6, 2014 Just picked up the thread. It's good to know when the transporters arrived at the race point and proves what may at first glance to be 'straight forward' isn't as it didn't allow any spare time for anything going wrong on basketing night. Currently, although the Scottish Feds have put race day back quite regularly over the years, none of them have brought race date forward. I think if this flexibility was to be adopted by SNFC it needs the marking to be brought forward (or put back) too. That also requires the marking stations to be available for opening over 3 days (normal day, a day earlier, or later) and the race point to be available for 3 days too. So, no it's far from straight forward, but worth looking at as our weather becomes more and more unpredictable.. hail storms in June?
Henrik Posted June 6, 2014 Report Posted June 6, 2014 Nae replies fi the experts yet, must be great to be an armchair convoyer, but then again they,ll be out in force tomorro if they dont get off with some more words of nonsense] :emoticon-0123-party:

Less stress more success, and the less time doos are in the basket the better imo. Atb for this weekend.

It all comes down to whos running the show Ian.

ALF Posted June 6, 2014 Report Posted June 6, 2014 Is that a proven fact the doos need four hours rest instead of two??? I got told about a convoyer arriving at a racepoint from up here and an English fed had been sitting from the night before an hour or 2 later the doos in the Scottish lorry were as quiet as fk could hardly hear them but the doos in the English lorry that had plenty of rest after sitting all night were roaring their heads off...I didnae need to hear anymore more after that
robbiedoo. Posted June 6, 2014 Report Posted June 6, 2014 North doo's on the move for approx 24hrs, a 2hr rest at racepoint then you expect them to race 400mls!!!! HOLY SHEET ROBBIE!!! Fit you speaking about you idiot . For 1 I never said anything about the north doos and 2 when did I say keep them at the race point for 2 hours then lib them . I answered a statement saying I thought the doos had to be at the race point for a minuimum of 4 hours so away back and curl up behind a stone. I have looked the thread back and see where you have got it mixed up someone stated the doos would of been there at 6 o'clock I was only stating about the time the doos have to be at the race point . As for cruelty hope you are not connecting me with that

What it proves is pigeon men like the birds to rest at a race point.Wether it is needed well I don't know.
