Mossgiel Posted January 28, 2014 Report Posted January 28, 2014 Excellent article on one of Scotland's greatest fanciers.
alec guinness Posted January 28, 2014 Report Posted January 28, 2014 Great stuff Lewis.legend of the sport.
Blue Chequer Pied Posted January 28, 2014 Report Posted January 28, 2014 Well done Lewis another fancier that had hero status for me as I was growing up. I always remember that Sandy Mitch held him in great regard and that always carried weight with me. The thing that always impressed me about Bob Cormack was the amount of other fanciers that won with his birds, just like the great Dennis Dall, true greats.
peter pandy Posted January 28, 2014 Report Posted January 28, 2014 I always remembered Robert telling me this piece of advice, Peter its taken 80 years to develop Scottish long distance pigeons and it will be wrecked with imports from abroad by those who believe they can put speed into them. Whatever you do, do not fall into that trap, as it will only destroy what has taken all those years to evolve.Robert made that statement in the 70s and you the reader would have to agree with his statement as we can look at it now where we struggle to get our distance birds home.

Big Davie Posted January 29, 2014 Report Posted January 29, 2014 Well done Rooster, what an excellent read on a first class distance fancier, full common sense and little pearls of wisdom, best article I've read for some time.
paddymac Posted January 29, 2014 Report Posted January 29, 2014 Another good post Rooster on a top fancier :emoticon-0137-clapping:
Fly_caster Posted January 29, 2014 Report Posted January 29, 2014 Great article - thanks for posting. I have a cock here who is a Great Grandson of Lyrona Freckles. One of the few which produced a bird to fly Talbenny for me last year. Hoping to get that bird out to the French coast later this year - 525 miles into NW Donegal. Steve
