blucock Posted June 26, 2013 Report Posted June 26, 2013 1/3 thought you were inat1540 yesterday. ? No there was a bird in Ayrshire at 1542 - L Cowan of Clyde Coast finish at eight tonight hoping when I get to the loft I have a few worked in today especially my wee hen 1960 1/5 just now Best of luck mate, it's a hard route for sure. Hope you get her
Guest bigda Posted June 26, 2013 Report Posted June 26, 2013 LOOKS LIKE, THE doos that where late never got at the water in the basket, and it is known, any bird drinking 10% less water than needed per day can mean as much as 40% less effort in a race. just to let you know a bird drinks 1/4 of a pint per feed so if there is 20 birds in a basket that would make it, say they need 5 pints per basket at feeding time, those wee blue troughs, what would they hold 1 1/2 pints so that would make it 3 pints per 2 used per basket, if there are any more birds in the basket them there would be more chance your doo, would get 12%less water than needed per night result doos being late, going down for a drink bigda as is

Guest bigda Posted June 26, 2013 Report Posted June 26, 2013 so a section with 12 cocks would need two 3 pint drinkers filled a day. absolute rubbish no 3 pints per day per 12 birds 24 birds 6 pints more in a warm confined space

Guest bigda Posted June 26, 2013 Report Posted June 26, 2013 no 3 pints per day per 12 birds 24 birds 6 pints more in a warm confined space just to let you know 200 crate truck would need 1,200 pints of water that amounts to 150 gallon of water per day, and if that was adhered to more often there would be faster times and less losses so the nat should have went through 600 gallon of water did that happen you tell me or 15. 40 galon oil barrels of water
DJWa Posted June 26, 2013 Report Posted June 26, 2013 got my last one tonight at 9-20 now 22/22 100 percent returns ype well done austin

Delboy Posted June 26, 2013 Report Posted June 26, 2013 [ how many did you get home then anyone with a brain knows a doo drinks about 1/4 pint of fresh water per day Danny, a 4 pint drinker is enough for 32 pigeons in one day therefore a pigeon drinks 1/8th of a pint a day in normal conditions.
Guest bigda Posted June 26, 2013 Report Posted June 26, 2013 a week with out food would not harm a bird as much as a week without water would do doos, drink about 1/4 of a pint = 4 fluid oz or 125 mil for a full 24 hour can you not see we are neglecting the doos, one that are well basket trained, are going to get there fair shareand you also have the basket bullies, who will not move out the way to let others drink you have all seen this with birds, at there own drinkers not letting any bird near there own drinkers in your shed well in a basket they are 10 times worse.
Guest bigda Posted June 26, 2013 Report Posted June 26, 2013 [ how many did you get home then anyone with a brain knows a doo drinks about 1/4 pint of fresh water per day Danny, a 4 pint drinker is enough for 32 pigeons in one day therefore a pigeon drinks 1/8th of a pint a day in normal conditions. in basket condition, would be alot worse than in shed conditions, del and birds aint to kind to the shy type. no quarter given

VMS Posted June 26, 2013 Report Posted June 26, 2013 It's like the flint stones LOL should be using Geraldy transporters
Guest bigda Posted June 26, 2013 Report Posted June 26, 2013 so we can agree on every 200 crate truck of 5,000 doos we need 15 5 gallon drums of water per day minimum taken on board or collected yet when in France this could cost us the race if we give our birds French water, the horse racing guys bring all there own water with them, they don't take the chance, or leave anything to chance in case there horse has the runs in a big race, bio security should be our aim also when in France you wouldn't drink water abroad doos are just like us with gerry berry
Guest bigda Posted June 26, 2013 Report Posted June 26, 2013 It's like the flint stones LOL should be using Geraldy transporters yes and charged at the rate of £31 per basket trucks and drivers for inland races giving the nat a profit of £31 per basket also more for france
tiger Posted June 27, 2013 Report Posted June 27, 2013 It's like the flint stones LOL should be using Geraldy transporters ur right the time has come two use them and stop looking after there feds and use whats best for the birds
hotrod Posted June 27, 2013 Report Posted June 27, 2013 No there was a bird in Ayrshire at 1542 - L Cowan of Clyde Coast Best of luck mate, it's a hard route for sure. Hope you get herVery good , Lindsay ,s dad would have been proud of him well done wee man , but I'm afraid you put down in at 15.40 Saltcoats and took the plaudits ie big Gareth saying well done baz , but u never said anything to the contrary .
hotrod Posted June 27, 2013 Report Posted June 27, 2013 ur right the time has come two use them and stop looking after there feds and use whats best for the birdsI spoke to a very prominent national man yesterday at length on the dog and bone , he agreed this snfc needs a shake up from the TOP to the bottom , and get it back to where it used to be , he told me of things that he witnessed at marking , ie taking rubber ring numbers off the national sheets for club secretary,s to check after time in , this to me is I big big no no , security is surely a must .
