I’m ok with getting to Dundee and I could take some members birds but that will be next year though

Hopefully ots just this year Matthew and its only twice. Just glad to be getting some proper national racing

Hope you are right ryan? Is there anything that leads you to believe that it's for one year only ?

I think once this ruling in i cant see them lifting it but on saying Dundee marking station is going to be our nearest one and the extra cost of vets etc i can see it being a easy section to win because there will be nae bugger putting  to channel races up this way .

would not have used the word easy but  i think there could be a large drop in competitors which can only be bad, certainly could force difficult decisions to be made in the future

Yes i know its never easy for the doos to get hame from long distance ,I was just emphasizing the detrimental effect this rulings will have on the races, also who made the decision with regards the Dundee thing.

Just being optimistic that it was just for one year.  What will be will be I suppose. If it does involve a trip to Dundee I might try the other National as well next year

Back in the good old days we had to go to Gorgie Cattle Market in Edinburgh then it was moved to Dalkeith. Charlie Graham running the show and 7500 birds at Rennes. (And back down with your clock if you timed in!)

Davie, can remember these good days. Big birdages and 1:20 for prizes Rennes and Nantes.  It’s time it went back to central marking, also don’t think the bird# ar3 there for a normal 4 channel races these days.

I love my channel racing but snfc have not helped anyone with the vet situation, the very least they could have done is sourced vets out in each area who are willing to take on pigeons but no they expect every fancier to find one for themselves ,well it’s to much for me I got rid of all my distance stock pigeons today and will stick to inland racing .

Don’t know about anywhere else but it is impossible to register with a vet in Lanarkshire, even the vet who i have my dogs registered with has told me he will not touch racing pigeons.

Sad news that Colin.  Always had a look to see how you got on at the nationals. Best of luck with you inland racing

Must have a good vet down with you. Last time I took one of my doos to the vet she started going on about how our birds get stressed in the lorry on the way to races.  She made it pretty obvious she wasn't a fan of pigeon racing.

At the end of the day Ryan am not looking for their approval just their signature really....a wee bit patronising is a small price to pay for channel racing......their callout fee for my once yearly inspection might be diffo

We can always go to GUERNSEY, until this knowing ,not knowing what is the criteria is can be sorted out, without costs for vets and there certificates ,the games already dying out and this would put a lot of distance fanciers of keeping there birds , the SNFC should be in some way organising vets that can be used ,or are able to help in this process on a registrar , but again GUERNSEY is a viable option at least cost a descent distance for most.
