Tommy, I'm gaining confidence all the time, but I don't know if I'm ready for that yet. I used to worry that I might make mistakes and the pigeons would suffer for it, now I know I will make mistakes, but the pigeons will just have to get on with it. I try not to make the same mistakes twice. I remember something Frank Baillie used to say, " pigeon fanciers give products to their pigeons because it makes them feel good." Training them makes me feel as though I am doing my bit to get their heads into gear, fitness being gained through loft flying. When I met my first racing man, I was the boy scraping out. He didn't train much either. He was retired and nobody offered to help him out. He beat them all most weeks despite this, and raced from start to end including the Nationals, wish I had listened better and remembered more.
