The shu constitution online requires updating . Rule 24 is still there and 26 still has should and not must.

Bobby, on last years agenda it was only rule 26 from race rules that was to be modified from should to must. Rule 24 as George stated was not on the agenda for changing . John b
  11. Controllers have done a great job this year, but the convoyers must also be given huge praise on the condition the birds have returned .
  12. Andy, I have Mick Brennan coming up on either Friday night or Saturday , if you bring it down on Friday night at basketing I can get it down to Darlington for the guy. John b
  13. Bamfords told me they would not delivery a pallet if there was an agent within 10miles of me. There agents at the time was Minnie and Coxydeen
  14. I've a copy off it, it's VHS ( tape recording) can look it out for you. It's where I put after moving house .
  15. Great read on a great long distance fancier. It shows that these winning men from all these years ago, change their methods to still be at the top of the tree. Jim does not train now for the Nationals but has them on roundabout.
  16. Bought a box from Hyperdrug, worked out at 8p each.
  17. These were the great days of the SNFC, sending 7000 to Rennes and nearly 2000 to Nantes. Still remember them well, leaving the house at 04.00 and doing the Carter Bar run every day for 10 days before the birds main race. In these days it was like a convoy of pigeon guys training at that time in the morning, started off with the late Bobby Carruthers and even Jim Sanderson trained in these days winning Nantes twice. As you said Mike we usually got the birds home from the channel as long as they were good enough, sometimes with 100% on the night from Sartilly and Rennes if not by next morning. Like your hen, they were all good birds. Wish I had some off them know.
  18. Last years AGM Jan 2017. Agenda - no 5 Recommendations by The Management Committee. 5a Race programme that was pit forward by committee After races and dates it said Race Programme to be set for 5 years. As it states at the start off No 5 on the Agenda Recommendations by the Committee.
  19. It was only a recommendation by the committee for the 5 years. Every other recommendation the committee has made over the last few years have been CHANGED the following year by the committee proposals .

Totally agree and is the hidden agenda - the sections the management is drawing up for us all. Don't think any of them will be disadvantaged from the new sections!!

Colin, Cultures are only testing for bacteria, fungi and yeast, not viruses

Stuart , the problem with checking for viruses, it would cost £100's for 1 test(or that is what it was approx when I was working for individual testing) I had heard of a fancier who had youngsters die overnight, sent them for testing, to be told they could find nothing wrong. Before those results came back I told folk what the answer would be as they would not normally send them to a virology laboratory for further tests. What I think is required is to test for avian viruses with a virologist not a vet to find what this/these viruses are. This would require major funding. Cheers John b
