The Cynic Posted September 3, 2017 Report Posted September 3, 2017 I was honoured to be a friend of Bob,a great man & fancier. Many memories of Bob, like driving him to Blackpool when he was recuperating . Going into the show you only got a couple of steps at a time as so many peoplestopped to speak to Bob. And when working at his house about springtimewhen my doos were still sleeping. After a couple o hours talking to Bob Icould'nt wait to get home and pair up etc. Such was his infectiousenthusiasm. He was also a great benefactor to the North Of ScotlandFederation and founder member.Others better versed than me will document Bob's racing exploits, but forme timing a hen to be 2'nd Sec Niort SNFC twice at nine and ten yearsold at over 780 miles says it all simply the bestCondolences to Gina and family. Farewell Bob The end of an era Dave, Faith &a Calum McDougall

robbiedoo. Posted September 6, 2017 Report Posted September 6, 2017 Just to let the fancy know that Bobs funeral is taking place at the West church Fraserburgh at 2 pm tomorrow afternoon.
Blue Chequer Pied Posted September 6, 2017 Report Posted September 6, 2017 Saddened to read this and my condolences go to Bob's family. The word legend can be used to frequently at times but Bob truly was a legend in the world of pigeon racing. I remember meeting him for the first time when I was 14 at a show in Elgin and he treated me like he had known me all my life. Bob's passing will leave a big hole in the pigeon world. It was an absolute pleasure to know him and my over-riding memories will be the great advice that Bob would give and above all his enthusiasm and passion for the doo's that never dwindled or deminished. Rest in Peace Bob.
