dkj Posted July 20, 2016 Report Posted July 20, 2016 Davie will your youngbirds not see a basket at all untill there going to the first race? 1st time will be the 1st race,
Novice Posted July 20, 2016 Report Posted July 20, 2016 1st time will be the 1st race,I had watched this thread with interest awaiting DKJ's input.Davie you are an excellent fancier with top quality healthy birds.Because of the above the system will work for you.Problems arise at the first few races because mediocre fanciers with even worse birds which have not been through any form of selection before racing attempt to enter them in races. It's all about horses for courses and that applies to both birds and fanciers.

philg50 Posted July 20, 2016 Report Posted July 20, 2016 IMO the bolt from the basket is the thing that needs to be learned ,when the door drops they should be out ,on your first toss you often see doos still in basket that have to be ushered out ,thats nae use on release .
calder boy Posted July 20, 2016 Report Posted July 20, 2016 Could write a wee book of all the so called good doo men who say we don't train we don't do this we don't do that we don't feed this we dint give them anything yeah right you make me fecking laugh
lanarkshire lad Posted July 20, 2016 Report Posted July 20, 2016 Each to there own but I train my ybs before the first YB race surely it can only be good for the youngsters and I actually enjoy training them providing the weathers good and the bops keep there distance lol
JohnQuinn Posted July 20, 2016 Author Report Posted July 20, 2016 Why the insults,I asked a civil question on an interesting thread? If ye weren't being sarcastic my apology but you misquote me and where I come from 'would be interested' is a p**s take.I never said train them to break without training, I said if Doos are conditioned/trained properly by those who do train then my or any untrained birds will not hold them back. If yer Doos Are held back by mine they're no trained properly and will hang about with my rubbish. But these fanciers try to put the blame of their own inadequacies as fanciers at others ppls door. When they don't win its Ma fault coz mine aren't trained. I started this thread because of the amount of birds already lost by fanciers who are barely 20mls from their loft for a training toss. O/B's and Yb alike. Now I would like tae know fae serial trainers and losers of pigeons unnecessarily why Feeding Percy 4/5 times a week instead of once is of benefit to their birds or the sport for that matter.......Just Tae win a poxy 60mls race that's most likely got a first prize of about a £5'er.
