They are very expensive seed to buy,not the sort of seed to feed other than added to a mix in small quantities-- bit like a sneaky mix or fat mix.

Buying these in quantities I believe is a mistake. Being an oil based seed they have a short shelf life and can go rancid.

I. Only use these for the long races , and buy them from tesco or asda ,from the human consumption shelf along with peanuts very small bags of 100 g or so . I know it's dearer that way but I've been burnt before with mouldy seeds .

Tommy, Nice to hear from you again :emoticon-0136-giggle: Now "Real Foods Edinburgh" are importers of many nuts and grains and where John Bosworth gets his from. I had my last consignment from them about a year ago and the Peanuts are still soft and tasty and S/Flower I add to my Bread as I make my own and they are the same.

Sunflower Hearts hulled 20kgs £70.00.

Redskin Peanuts 20kgs £ 101.60

And if you aint paying that much then you are buying rubbish.

Well I am a poor old age pensioner who only wants to give his birds the best after all I wont eat Gruel when I can afford Steak. Typical Doo men get the cheapest but it works out the dearest in the long run..
