Kyleakin Lofts Posted February 18, 2016 Report Posted February 18, 2016 Kasey had operation this afternoon which enables her to breathe on her own , she was on a ventilator ,shes to get further op next week when they hope she'll have improved enough for them to operate on her heart valves which aren't working properly .I'll post more as and when ..According to grandaughter she's looking a lot better ,she's still in incubator ..thanks all for kind thoughts sandy My nephew is around 45 years old. He was born with a valve condition known as Fallots tetralogy, the spelling may be wrong. He is one of the earliest survivors of this condition and all his early surgery was performed in Yorkhill. Take heart Sandy, medical science has come forward a great deal since then. You have my thoughts and prayers.
sandy25 Posted February 19, 2016 Author Report Posted February 19, 2016 First let us thank all for your kind words of support and comfort which has meant a lot to us Update Kacy(I got the spelling wrong ) has transposition of the great arteries which means her chambers are the wrong way round the left side is pumping to the right and vice versa. The op she had was called a baloon septotomy (which they done through her groin couldn'do it through her navel) to make the hole between chambers bigger so oxygenated blood could circulate properly until she can have the open heart surgery to fix everything , which should be in a week to ten days away depending on how she improves .She has had a peaceful day .mother and gran at her bedside ,long days ..sandy
