Delboy Posted June 30, 2015 Report Posted June 30, 2015 Blue hen SU07F7021 known as KINGDOM SPIRIT, bred and raced by 2 gentlemen of our sport,George and Brian Hunter from Dunfermline. This in my opinion is probably the best pigeon I have ever known in my 40+ years in the sport and definitely does not get the accolades it deserves.. At the weekend she was 2nd sect C 58th open Alencon Gold cup at 7 years of age.( 07 old ring, she is an 08 bird ) Heres her performances to date. 2010 as a 2 yr old 7th sect C 26th Open Gold cup Reims 567 miles, 2010 2nd sect C 30th Open Clermont 524 mls ( best bird in Scotland winning the Dewar Trophy ).2011 2nd sect C 32nd Open Gold cup Messac 573 mls,( winning the coveted SNFC Silver Award ) 2011 31st sect C 67th Open Clermont 524 mls, 2012 4th sect C 36th Open Gold cup Alencon 547 mls,( winning the coveted SNFC Gold Award ) 2013 8th sect C 26th Open Gold cup Alencon, 2013 41st sect C 90th Open Clermont, 2014 18th sect C 120th Open Gold cup Alencon ( winning her 2nd Silver Award ) 2015 2nd sect C 58th Open Gold cup Alencon...... 9 SNFC Diplomas from 524 - 573 miles, 6 from the prestigious GOLD CUP Blue Riband race and 3 from Clermont. Fortune Lady scored 10 times and won 2 x Gold Awards but in my opinion Kingdom Spirit has an edge on her as the BOP and hazards nowadays are far more than they were 20 years ago. Also, her loft location isn't the best in her section and she has won 2nd sect on 3 occasions.. Unbelievable pigeon and I dream of something similar in my life time. Well done to George and Brian Hunter of Cowdenbeath for creating, conditioning and flying such a wonderful champion pigeon.

gulkie Posted June 30, 2015 Report Posted June 30, 2015 a dozen like that in your loft would do. I would be happy with one???
St Finnan Loft Posted June 30, 2015 Report Posted June 30, 2015 Great pigeon flown by a SNFC legend, maybe being a bit picky here but don't think the cocks first 3 open positions are correct?? THESE POSITIONS WERE TAKEN FROM THE ARTICLE WRITTEN BY LEWIS McCALLEY AND PUBLISHED IN THE BRITISH HOMING WORLD OVER A 3 WEEK PERIOD. THE INFORMATION WAS IN PART 3 OF THIS ARTICLE TITLED JOHN ELLIS OF WELLBANK. JOHN IS A PERSONAL FRIEND OF MINE AND I HAVE A SON FROM BLUE BOY. THE ARTICLE CAN BE SEEN ON ELIMAR SITE
yeboah Posted June 30, 2015 Report Posted June 30, 2015 Really chuffed for George and Brian two gentlemen of our great sport
Big Davie Posted June 30, 2015 Report Posted June 30, 2015 Both are fantastic pigeons, the type we all dream about, flown and conditioned by quality fanciers
glencameron Posted June 30, 2015 Report Posted June 30, 2015 In my opinion simply the best long distance pigeon currently racing in the UK. The gold cup prizes have been won from different race points, facing wildly different conditions and obstacles. I have spent more time talking about this pigeon with my father than it takes her to fly the gold cup. For me this is what pigeon racing is all about, good pigeons.
Valiant Fifer Posted June 30, 2015 Report Posted June 30, 2015 Yes very well done to George and Brian both clubmates of mine. Iv'e handled their great hen numerous times putting her through the ringer one of the best iv'e handled from many lofts! She just ooses class! A pigeon that is well worthy of the title "Champion"!
