frank-123 Posted August 22, 2014 Report Posted August 22, 2014 How many did you send with the south tonight Tommy?
robbiedoo. Posted August 22, 2014 Report Posted August 22, 2014 Over the last few week I have spoken to fanciers from all around the uk and let me tell you Lanarkshire are not alone in their losses , illness not in my opinion, some top top north east fanciers have lost most of their team and they don't send sick pigeons , there is more to all this than Percy , wind turbines , mobile phones , electric storms , lack of training, it makes no difference the old bird season was terrible the yb season is terrible it is here to stay in my opinion . What can we do ! Not a lot . When you say north east fanceirs is that north of Scotland ?. You quoted they are top fanceirs and they don't send sick pigeons it should,nt matter what kind of fanceir you are you should never put a sick pigeon in the transporter IMO. I lost interest with the pigeons the last 2 or 3 year but was starting to get the bug back then you hear there is guys sending their youngsters knowing fine well they are not right it just sickened me hence the reason I only had 2 races I was,nt wanting to take the chance of them getting sick .
peter2010 Posted August 22, 2014 Report Posted August 22, 2014 trying tae support my fed at same time robert Wit one you in
tommy bhoys Posted August 22, 2014 Report Posted August 22, 2014 Wit one you in only in lanarkshire robert anoo
yeboah Posted August 22, 2014 Report Posted August 22, 2014 Putting birds through at the marking station tonight gives an idea of the bigger pictureThe lads that race natural trying to get a race or two more out of the youngstersNo head cover bare necks etcThen handling the darkness doos No comparison whatsoever You could make out the prize list before they went on the transporterWith NW wind forecast tomorrow with showers on route the natural birds will go down again more lossesSunday south south west wind No rain or showers forecast We try to come up with answers when they are staring us in the face But will we change for the sake of the pigeon Nope because our ancestors did it this way 300 years Ago

Paul Mac 31 Posted August 23, 2014 Report Posted August 23, 2014 Away with 12 today.... with all my boxes filled for nxt year..so takin it week by week to see if we'll complete the programme... I want to win and race every week....or whats the point in keepin them...but there must be come back races in the programme thats a no brainer!!! Building a team..and schooling the Ybs should be a priority.. for the last 10-15 years most of our ybs on get 3races max.. unless showing form.. never done them any harm as yearlings.
jonl6280 Posted August 23, 2014 Report Posted August 23, 2014 Birdage low because of lots of factors ! Not as many doo fanciers around these days compared to say 10-15 years ago, YB sickness, bad doo men that haven't a clue about pigeon's, too many inland nationals which means low birdage to real over the water races 500 miles, breeding off bad doos, breeding off sick doos .
