Delboy Posted August 13, 2013 Report Posted August 13, 2013 Just noticed that Dougie Bald from the Almond valley fed has a NEHU pigeon that has 2 x 1st feds, 1x 2nd fed and 1 x 3rd fed after only 4 races .In my opinion it merits the best yb in Scotland already after only half the season. Well done Dougie, cracking flying.
sapper756 Posted August 13, 2013 Report Posted August 13, 2013 Great performance by a cracking youngster, well done Dougie Bald

My young birds and old birds are always mixed together and never separated therefore the young hen is not flying darkness or any other system and is now well on the body moult and is on her last three flights. So do I stop her?

blaz Posted August 14, 2013 Report Posted August 14, 2013 for me she would be stopped she has put up a top class performance . we are stepping out and she like you said is well in to the moult.
blaz Posted August 14, 2013 Report Posted August 14, 2013 if truth be told how many would send her again not me. with her well on moult and the performances she has put up . hard enough topping feds to have a double fed topper with a 2nd fed and 3rd fed.their won,t be many wintering out yb,s with that behind them for breeding and racing next year.
RyanDavidson Posted August 14, 2013 Report Posted August 14, 2013 What a pigeon that is ,they don't come along too often, I also have a yb thats topped the central fed twice out of the first 3 races hes had ,I will be sending him this week but if he comes well I would consider stopping um for next year.
flying fifer Posted August 14, 2013 Report Posted August 14, 2013 Thanks Derek for your kind remarks. I now have a very difficult decision regards to stopping the David Reed hen. My young birds and old birds are always mixed together and never separated therefore the young hen is not flying darkness or any other system and is now well on the body moult and is on her last three flights. So do I stop her? What would you do if she hadn't flown so well and in a state of heavy moult? Think it's a no brainer for me.
William Reid Posted August 14, 2013 Report Posted August 14, 2013 Stopped and you could have six young from her next year .lost and you will get F all
just ask me Posted August 14, 2013 Report Posted August 14, 2013 depending on her moult thats when id stop her id then pair her too two different cocks and get her back on the road next year
peter pandy Posted August 14, 2013 Report Posted August 14, 2013 Dougie, What a cracker and what a dilemma !!. If the covers on the wing have gone completely then I would put her past, if not the decision is yours whether to send her this week. With the possibility of a hold over this week-end it would speed the moult but you don't need me to tell you that.
Delboy Posted August 14, 2013 Author Report Posted August 14, 2013 If the doo is going into the big moult then obviously you cant send her BUT if you are thinking of stopping her because shes done her part, then imo that's wrong. I would send her until she stopped winning. Strike when shes hot.
