hotrod Posted March 3, 2013 Report Posted March 3, 2013 I see that they are going it alone to a 600 mile race on their own. It's around 620 to central Scotland , pity the other national would/could not come along , no need to worry about south o the border race controllers. Any thoughts ?

Delboy Posted March 3, 2013 Report Posted March 3, 2013 632mls to me, 644mls to you Stu. Empty the dookit. The SNFC have found this a good distance in recent years. When you go further it gets dodgy, imo.

I have to agree with Andy here del ,could be a disaster , what I was asking was how it could be if the snfc and the snrpc went together ,would be a step nearer reconciliation. .?

I agree Stuart, the membership is dwindling fast and Scotland not big enough for 2 nats. Its a pity both couldnt go together to the longest race, either way, us with you or you going to Tours with us???
alec guinness Posted March 3, 2013 Report Posted March 3, 2013 common sense its got to be TOURS with the midland national on the 6th of july. :partick-thistle-Crest:
eastcoaster Posted March 3, 2013 Report Posted March 3, 2013 We all know it makes sense to go together BUT the DINASUARS (spelling) wont move on .
hotrod Posted March 4, 2013 Author Report Posted March 4, 2013 common sense its got to be TOURS with the midland national on the 6th of july. :partick-thistle-Crest: I don't see any common sense in that John when there's an option of controlling your own race , short memories pal .
dms5686 Posted March 4, 2013 Report Posted March 4, 2013 will be a very hard race and will take a super fit pigeon with a strong constitution and be prepared to go way through the pain barrier to get home and then it would have to be lucky and avoid hawks would realy like to get a pigeon in race time from that race extreme long distance racing at its best well done SNRPC commitee for coming up with this certainly wont be a follower that wins that race:o :o
BURNMOUTH PAT Posted March 4, 2013 Report Posted March 4, 2013 100 birds on there own could go in a small van, it makes sense to save money. With such a small entry anyone surely can win
Delboy Posted March 4, 2013 Report Posted March 4, 2013 I don't see any common sense in that John when there's an option of controlling your own race , short memories pal . The Midland National now has members as far up as Carlisle Stuart so the controllers would have to take these fanciers into consideration. Granted, we ve got another 100mls + but the race is controlled for us 80-85% of the way.
VMS Posted March 4, 2013 Report Posted March 4, 2013 We all know it makes sense to go together BUT the DINASUARS (spelling) wont move on .Spot on, beggers belief that some fanciers in Scotland would rather go with an English org rather than a Fellow Scottish one.

yeboah Posted March 4, 2013 Report Posted March 4, 2013 I have never been political infact hate politics ,so me thinks what chance has alex salmond got of a united Scotland if a few doomen cannae get round a table and shake hands
Guest IB Posted March 4, 2013 Report Posted March 4, 2013 All very well making such gestures on a website. Before other arrangements are made and the contracts signed, why not make an official approach to SNFC to go together? And not just for one racepoint.
alec guinness Posted March 4, 2013 Report Posted March 4, 2013 I don't see any common sense in that John when there's an option of controlling your own race , short memories pal . i think you know Stuart i dont have a short memory!! :lol:the best 2 races recently from the longest race points we have had with the SNFC have been from Andrezel and Tours both convoyed by big organisations with large birdages, maybe coincidence but i think not.!!!! ;)birds flying into Scotland over 600 mls need all the help they can get imo!! we can all stick our chests out for glory and play the pioneer card but we must give the birds the best chance of getting home!!! as stated the Midland nationals radius falls not far short of the SNFC south section so imo this is the best option!!
